My only problem is that they were both Mako's ex-girlfriends. Thats just fricked up.

They did a good job not shoving it down your throat. I think that's the problem with a bunch of the LBGT themes, they are slammed with an in your face factor that throws a bunch of people off and turns them away. This was subtle and accepting, nothing wrong with the ending I thought it was great showing balance and change, which are 2 big themes of the Korra series.

I liked it and joked about wanting a full on kiss.

I don't really know how I feel about doing a clear up after the fact. I think they should of made it a little more obvious if that is the message they wanted to send. Felt the same way about JK tacking on the gay tag to Dumbledore after the fact. That one was a lot less obvious than this finale though.

I didn't like how his part didn't have a good wrap up like everyone else's he just kind of ended with, "I'll follow you into battle anywhere Korra" with Korra turning and going to Asami. Wish they would have given him a little bit better ending but I guess he just got slammed into the friend zone and that was it

They made this obvious enough, but I don't think it helps them by clearing it up after the fact whenever they could have just left it up to interpretation and satisfied everyone. Now an official statement can piss those off who aren't too keen on it, just seems like the statement can do more harm than good whenever they were getting such a positive response.

Honestly, I do think this is a big step in the right direction for the gay community. Shows like Glee actually take the gay community back by shoving this shite down your throat, making everything with a gay subtext, and acting as if being gay makes you better and should be celebrated. In order for the gay community to progress, we as a society shouldn't care one way or the other if someone is gay. It should be as simple as these are two people who fell in love with one another, and that's that. And Korra did it. It was classy and subtle and wasn't forced down your throat. It made sense in the end that those two would be together, and they were all characters first and love interests second. As Bryan said, he's more interested in writing characters and not trophies for the main character like a ridiculous number of movies and shows do.
