I haven't met a single person that tried e-cigs and DIDN'T stop smoking. Go to a smoke shop and get a good one.

Stopped buying them and just quit cold turkey. Hardest part was getting over the cravings while drinking.

Cold turkey after 15+ years. First three days suck and then it slowly gets better.

Patches. Fun dreams while I was using them as well.

I tried the patches, gum and e cigs and went right back to smoking. When I finally sucked it up and quit cold turkey it stuck. You just need to make it through the first couple of days then its not bad

I quit about 3 years ago after smoking from about age 17-22.

I just quit cold turkey and after a weeks that was that.

I didn't want one, so I didn't let my brain or body trick myself into making me think I needed one. I took control of myself and simply quit. May sound weird or something idk, but I thought it was very easy, just control yourself and don't be weak, you control what you put into your body, don't give in. After a few weeks or months, you'll be clear.

I throw up any time I smell a cigarette anymore, it's amazing how unbelievably gross they are after you quit, x1000.

Chantix.

From all the smokers I have heard from said 3 things.

1. Quit smoking.

2. Nightmares/vivid dreams.

3. Made cigs taste like shite and took all pleasure out of it. Which equaled quitting.

Good luck.

It was the realization that had I smoked one more year, I would have smoked more than half of my life.

That woke me up, as well as having our first child.

Cold Turkey because my currently gorgeous girlfriend told me she wouldn't date me if I smoked.

I relapsed and have had less than 5 ciggs in over a year.

Don't know about the hospitals here, but at the one I worked at prior to moving here if you went to the cessation classes they put on they would pay for your gum/patches or whatever it was you were going to use.
That all being said, most patients that I dealt with quit cold turkey or risked getting a post op infection due to wound dehiscence or worse amputation... Sort of a motivator.

A couple months after my son was born I gave Chantix a try and it worked. I didn't experience any of the negative things that some have experienced with Chantix.

Cold Turkey is the only way to go. First two weeks is hard as as hell but gets easier as time passes. Try not to throw back any large amounts of alcohol for 30 days or so....

I quit with Chantex. No bad dreams. No thoughts of suicide. Just raging hard-ons every morning. Takes two weeks.

I tried everything, e cigs, patches, gum, chantix, nothing worked. Went out one night and left them at the bar on accident. First day was the hardest for me, just breaking the routine, but it got easier. Quit for about 6 months, and started again Main thing for me was I had to keep the right mentality that I am quitting/ stronger than the craving, etc. About to make another run at quitting. Would like to stick around to see my son grow up.
