I was thinking top 5, no specific order:
Packers
Steelers
Jets
Saints
Eagles

Any list that doesn't have Pitt in top 3 is a joke. They have such an enormous Legion of fans across the entire eastern United States from to Maine.

Are you kidding me? Jets fans have the option to be a Giants fan (a winner) but do not. If anything they are possibly the most loyal and obnoxiously supportive fan base I've ever encountered. The Jets have one of the most dysfunctional franchises from start to finish. Kind of like being a Bills fan - what's their Super Bowl record again? 0-4?

Their die hards will kill anyone's die hards. That's about it. They have a good core group of loyal fans but outside of that, nadda.

If California bans the death penalty, I wager Raider Nation will experience a boom.

The list is a complete joke. Pats fans suck. They are rich north east bandwagon jumpers and only exist because they have been a good team this century. Before 2000, you couldn't find a find a Pats fan with a microscope.

What do we mean by best? The most....the most loyal? The Chiefs have great fans, just not a lot. Same with Viking fans.

Seattle fans are not great. They now have a winning team, but they led the league in jersey sales last year, because before that...no one had one.

Maybe so, I really didn't know anyone from that area back then. Those pre-Bledsoe years must have been pretty rough.

It's a horrible list list. Dallas and New England 1-2. The biggest bandwagon canvases in the NFL are the "best" fans?

An as far as the Jets go, just bc you are loud obnoxious assholes, that doesn't mean you are "good" fans

I laughed when I first saw the list, but I read a little bit of the article and it kind of makes sense.

quote:

In our series of fan base analyses across leagues, we adjust for these complicating factors using a revenue premium model of fan equity. The key idea is that we look at team box office revenues relative to team on-field success, market population, stadium capacity, median income and other factors. The first step in our procedure involves the creation of a statistical model that predicts box office revenue as a function of the aforementioned variables. We then compare actual revenues to the revenues predicted by the model. Teams with relatively stronger fan support will have revenues that exceed the predicted values, and teams that under perform have relatively less supportive fan bases.

Huh, I really don't understand your post. I was agreeing with the list and got a reply of "you suck" and the prior one was "do we really need to go over the list again."

I think someone missed something somewhere.
