the military is nothing more than welfare for those that are either too dumb for school and or too dumb for a real job.
Tell it to these guys.

I hate that they died. I really do, but they signed up. They shouldn't get any more sympathy than any harmless kid who is gunned down on the street. Military seem to think their lives are more valuable than civilians

This is false. Civilians pay military tribute a lot, but rarely do you find a military member demanding civilians to respect him for serving. I appreciate days like Veterans Day and when people thank me for my service, but you'll never see me approach someone in real life or on a message board asking for attention and appreciation.

Ignore that guy. He's a troll and he's full of shite. He claimed to have made over a million dollars last year and be "really high up in shell." Does he really think anyone believes him? There is no senior shell exec who makes a million dollars a year who would be posting on the OT at midnight on a monday. Not a single fricking one. And if they did they certainly wouldn't be retarded enough to broadcast what they do and who they work for. He does nothing but lie and try to push buttons. Look at his post history. It's pathetic. I feel sorry for the kid.

Oh well, thanks to all those that currently serve or have served in the past and I'll keep those that you've lost in my prayers. Night guys

Part of me takes joy in going to college on his dime. The other part of me remembers that he's never paid taxes.

They don't. Harmless, gunned down kids get tons of sympathy. WTF point are you attempting to make?

I was 17 and my mother was driving me crazy, seriously and I hated school at the time and didn't want to go to college. I also grew up in a little town with absolutely nothing to offer. After I enlisted I found out I freaking loved it, wound up staying long enough to retire and got out with a BS and MS degree and a commission.
Now to that Reb guy: You know absolutely nothing about what motivates military folks. Many go in for all kinds of reasons, but most stay because they like their job, the adventure, the camaraderie, or believe it or not some because of patriotism. I still get chills when I hear our national anthem.

"Ask not what your Country can do for you but what you can do for your Country"
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
John F. Kennedy
Check out the memorial at the Dome, really cool

I'm sure the illiterate athletes on twitter make that same argument. But sometimes the truth hurts.
