Reggie bush had 88 receptions and around 750 receiving yards as a rookie.. Cooks is an even better receiving threat who performs every game even doubled covered

Colston 70 catches 880 yards
Cooks 60 catches 750 yards
Stills 55 catches 770 yards
Pierre 45 360
Cadet 35 315
Watson 20 240
WR4(meachem or toon whomever) 20 280
WR5 15 195
Ingram 15 105
Lorig 15 135
Hill 10 120

This seems realistic...

Brees throws for 5,220 yards with this.

I think Graham will be slightly more productive and Lorig will be less productive, but that should tally up to a wash. I agree for the most part.

I think Cooks is used in a similar manner. Lot's of screens and passes in the flat as well as going deep. But I still think Stills gets more deep balls.

So, you take the most dynamic WR, we think, with his 4.3 speed, and throw it at the line of scrimmage or just beyond?

Doesn't sound like the most efficient use of his talents.

Yes, he will get his share of screens and such, but he will be there to take the top off. Plus, he's a complete receiver with his routes. He will run a full route tree and have ample opportunity to go deep.

Actually, thats Reggie Bush's stats from 2009

Cooks 47 catches, 335 yards

So... youre gonna base Cooks production off of what Reggie Bush, a RB, did in 1 of his worst years??

Interesting....

Cooks is a guy that will get his touches at the LOS to increase touches and opportunities for big plays but you still use him to get vertical and semi vertical and slant his arse across the whole field.

Predicting stats seem so hollow to me after witnessing some of the greatest offenses in NFL history ultimately fail like the Saints did in 2011, the Pats in 2007, and Denver in 2013.

The only number that counts is 2 as in the Saints' 2nd Lombardi Trophy.

Tell me the Saints in the playoffs will pass efficiently, will run whenever they want, and will have a defense that man-handles opponents and I'll predict they get that 2nd championship.

Nah just over the stat whoring I used to use to measure success.

Great offenses are nice to watch, but even if the Saints match or better the numbers from 2011, who cares about the stats if they get sent home in the playoffs again.

It's one of those been there done that, just get it done kind of dealies for me.

i've discussed the offense possibly being more balanced this year in some of my numbers i proposed. I know your thought process is well intentioned but you don't have to snub your nose to stats because you see more importance in balance in run efficiency etc.

Nobody in here said anything about stats = success.

The thread was simple. Predict the stats for the Saints top 3 WRs. That's it. Nothing about our record or the success we will have. Or anything about defense. Just predict the stats for the top 3 WRs.

Im thinking with Cooks on board, then Stills with another year under his belt, we won't have to force the ball to Jimmy as much. I think it will be more like our 2009 offense. Efficient running, and 7 or 8 different legit targets at Brees disposal.

You're one of those fans that go YAY IT IS A WIN!

not a fan that likes to watch a player's individual performance to see how they compare to the rest of the league. Or better yet, to see if this front office has a knack to produce great players.

In football and any sport it is a given anyone to want to be the best and win. It is how you get there that makes the game interesting. If we win 3-0 off a field goal, that'd be boring compared to us blowing the top off of every team in the league en route.

People need to slow their role. Rookie WRs rarely have the type of success that y'all are talking about. And let's not forget that Brees already has a trust with guys like Graham, Colston, Stills, Meachem and Morgan. Cooks won't be the first look on every play.

I'm basing it on the numbers the the third best wide receiver had; behind Colston, Henderson and Shockey. And it may have been his worst receiving year, but it was one of our most balanced years which I think we will strive to be this year.

Also, Don't forget that Bush motioned out of the back field a lot into the slot and ran a lot of seam patterns as well as running out into the flat and slants.

Cooks - 65 catches for 1,100 yards

This type of rookie season is pretty beyond rare. Can happen but man it would be special if he did.

In 2006 a rookie from Hofstra had 70 for 1,038 yards

I didn't talk numbers. I talked strictly role in the offense vs what you thought.
