Dont think Colston really drops. We lost Moore and Sproles. Thats a good bit of production. So I dont think Colston really drops. In fact, I think Colston has a really good year. Teams will be selling out to stop Graham and the explosive Cooks, which leaves Colston 1v1 with a #2CB. Dammit Rand AlThor, we agree again.

Colston - 81 catches for 1,025yards
Cooks - 65 catches for 1,100 yards
Stills - 45 catches for 750yards.

This type of rookie season is pretty beyond rare. Can happen but man it would be special if he did.

So it's quite possible Colston's catches go up or down

i feel like he totally dismissed the possibility of his catches remaining static.

Hiding in plain sight. The oldest trick in the book.

Yeah... but you gotta account for the team hes going to, the coach he has, the QB he has, and his skill set. Graham, Colston, Cooks, and Stills... thats a lot of matchup issues for a team to account for. Keenan Allen had 71 catches for 1,046yards last season, and he didnt really play the first 2 games of the year.

Cooks has the potential to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. And hes also a complete WR that can run every route and make every catch. And he has the type of skill set that we are going to get the ball to.... on screens, bubbles, hitches, etc.

And obviously, thats me thinking best case scenario. I do think has between 60-70 catches and over 1,000 yards though.

And Brees has thrown for over 5,000yards these last 3 seasons in a row....

I'm as excited to see Cooks as anybody...but I think folks are being a bit unrealistic as to what to expect form him this year. 1,100 yds.????????

keenan allen went for over 70 catches and 1046 yds but chargers didn't have other wr talent like saints have w/ colston and stills and graham.

Exactly, Allen became the #1 receiver after injuries to their WR corp.

Before that, he was 3rd fiddle on that team and 4th option.

Clearly not saying its impossible, but the odds are that he won't come close to 1000.

eta: now, I think he'll have 1200 to 1300 in all purpose.

Thats all true.

But we also throw the ball way more than the Chargers do also.

Not including TEs or RBs:

Colston 70 catches, 928 yards and 9 TDs
Stills 51 catches, 804 yards and 4 TDs
Cooks 47 catches, 335 yards and 3 TDs

so you think he does 5 yard slants and hits the ground ala lance moore all year?

This. I actually think that's pretty close to what Randy Moss had his rookie season.

Moss, Boldin and some dude i never heard of had some of the best rookie seasons every. If Cooks is above 1100 yards, he's nearly right there with some of them. Moss and boldin were closer to over 1300 i think.

Actually, that's Reggie Bush's stats from 2009. I think Cooks is used in a similar manner. Lot's of screens and passes in the flat as well as going deep. But I still think Stills gets more deep balls.

Cooks is obviously the wildcard. He's going to catch a good amount of balls, but there will be a lot of short catches in there. The question is, how many does he break? That will determine how many yards he ends up with.

The way I see it, all the way around:

Graham 80 catches 1070 yards
Colston 70 catches 880 yards
Cooks 60 catches 750 yards
Stills 55 catches 770 yards
Pierre 45 360
Cadet 35 315
Watson 20 240
WR4(meachem or toon whomever) 20 280
WR5 15 195
Ingram 15 105
Lorig 15 135
Hill 10 120

then morgan coleman and meachum/toon up next...by the way why is everyone writing off morgan? Or at least having him on the bubble? he was gonna be our 3rd wr. i know we gained stills and cooks but we lost moore..im thinking at least our 4th wr. unless the injury holds him back

Assuming Morgan is back to preinjury form, he should definitely be the leading candidate for that 4 spot.
