His last statement is comically ironic considering Thomas and the vast majority if not all of his congregation voted for Obama both times
Inner City pastors are out of synch with at least half of their "flock" when it comes to gay rights. Also, black people aren't single issue voters like the Christian Right. I am sure that they are better off under Obama than Romney or McCain.

They're worse than single issue voters, they vote the party line regardless of the stances democrat politicians take on any issue.

Also, what single issue do you think the Christian right votes on?

LOL. That's almost certainly correct. They are SINGLE PARTY voters.

And, give them a black candidate against a white candidate and they're pretty damned single race voters too!

Hell. I'd almost consider "single issue" superior to either of those and that's saying something considering the disdain I have for single issue voters

I think if you are part of a group that has been treated as second class citizens it is absolutely shitty to try and pull the ladder up on others.

I think Blacks had is worse, but at the same time, you have to admit that Gays don't have it great.

One is a behavior, one is a physical trait.

No comparison.

So we should be able to discriminate based on religion? Is the 1st amendment the only thing that makes that wrong?

Religion isn't a physical trait.

I'm not even talking about the 1st Amendment.

But, to answer your question. Saying something negative about a behavior(even a religion) is NOT "discrimination".

Thomas is also president of the 100-member Baptist Pastors Fellowship of Detroit and Vicinity, which proclaims on its website the belief in "one man, one woman, for life." The website also proclaims that homosexuality is not a "valid alternative lifestyle" but is condemned by the Bible as sin. "We cannot and we will not endorse anyone who blatantly blasphemes the Word of God and leads people in the wrong direction," Thomas tells OneNewsNow

I agree with all of this.

This is hilarious. You know this won't amount to anything. Because to make noise would bring division to their liberal agenda. But you got to believe that quietly both sides are fuming.

Clealy you didn't understand what i was saying. Is the first amendment the only reason the government discriminating based on religion is wrong? Or is it morally wrong for the government to judge that kind of behavior?

This isn't about statements, this is about the government being able to decide that an action that effect none outside the participants is wrong.

This is also about a group of people who have been prosecuted turning their backs and joining the prosecutors.

Prop 8 happened in 2008 because more black people than usual went to the polls to vote for Obama. But they as a whole voted against gay marriage. The black voter block of the left is an interesting dynamic. Dems won't lose any voters.. But that block of the base can make it tough when it comes to gay rights.
