=================================================
Thomas is also president of the 100-member Baptist Pastors Fellowship of Detroit and Vicinity, which proclaims on its website the belief in "one man, one woman, for life."

The website also proclaims that homosexuality is not a "valid alternative lifestyle" but is condemned by the Bible as sin.

"We cannot and we will not endorse anyone who blatantly blasphemes the Word of God and leads people in the wrong direction," Thomas tells OneNewsNow.
=================================================

His last statement is comically ironic considering Thomas and the vast majority if not all of his congregation voted for Obama both times.

Quite a quandary. Thankfully for the left, they are largely intellectually dishonest.

Are sexual instincts as genetically predetermined as one's skin color?

It's a very interesting dichotomy. In liberal mind, blacks and gays are both helpless victims. However, you've got one group of victims now who completely disagrees with the lifestyle of another set of victims. How do you appease both without offending the other?

Of course he is. Not really comparable.

Plus, while being gay is immutable, wearing striped tank tops and cut off denim shorts is certainly something you can control. I won't pretend modest gay folks will never encounter anyone who doesn't like them, but a laid back gay couple that doesn't spend every waking moment on being gay won't draw the attention or ire of very many people. While I don't advocate mistreatment of gay people who are outlandish, people who act out in society are going to draw negative attention a lot, gay or otherwise.

That scenario is nothing like what black people in this country endured in the civil rights era.

not really. the democratic party is a coalition of parties that band together, and share common causes.

This is the same thing you see in all coalitions. The republican party has it too, and I can promise you the old school fiscal republicans do not care for social conservatives.

that is an interesting quandry, but I think you give it to the gays. Obama has a lifetime pass with blacks.

Wait until after the election and evolve.

Given that the Republicans are not courting either group, I don't think the Democrats have all that much to worry about in terms of maintaining their coalition.

Rand Paul has been touted as doing a great job reaching out to the black community.

If he succeeds at that and manages to get through a republican primary, he will be the greatest Republican politician since at least Reagan if not ever, but I just have my doubts.

Edit: It would also be much easier to make inroads in the gay community if you could manage to survive the primary.

the same Bible which condones slavery and was used for justification for enslaving their ancestors.

The question is irrelevant. It's irrelevant because gays were never slaves and do not have a comparable history to blacks in this country.
