See my eta, which came before your post. It was sarcasm.

And I usually leave a buck if I pay with a credit card. I don't feel obligated to but I am a good tipper.

Oh, I hear ya. I'm just being a contrarian today. It helps pass the time on a boring Wednesday in the office.

No worries, I just think it's a funny way to look at that. Brees could do that every day of the year, and still have roughly $3M + take home salary back then after taxes with his 2009-2010 salary.

Just shows you how ridiculously well paid these guys are.

True, he was making $10M, which is half of that. It's equivalent to paying a $100 dining tab when making $100,000 a year or 1/1000th of his annual salary at that point.
My first gig as a govt contractor was with a retired AF colonel who was making 50k from our company and 50k from his retirement. Drove around in an old Accord with a garbage bag for a back window, but always bought lunch.

Not sure why I felt the need to share that.

The restaurant happened to have Stone Crab claws in season for market price. It turns out they were $80 apiece and everyone was ordering them.
I think this detail might be incorrect.
