I would like a metal frame seat (one of the reasons I want a Native Slayer 12) but I don't know how I could rig one up on mine.

Where are you mostly going to be fishing with this bad boy?

Also, can't really see in the pics, but I have a bicycle flag with 2 piece pole riveted to the crate (you can see the pole on the crate) and on the top of the flag, I got a SCUBA diving beacon light (cheapest I could find) that kinda fit in a 1/2" PVC end cap, drilled a hole the size of the pole in the bottom of cap and epoxed the pole into it and filled with epoxy then stuck the base of the beacon into it. So the light sits on top of the flag pole, I can just reach behind me and take the top half off and turn the light on or off then put it back up there. Only downside is it runs off of a large watch-style battery so when it dies it'll be a pain to replace, but I shouldn't be using it that much.

Would you mind taking a picture and sending it to boomroasted225@gmail?

The marsh mostly. Off LA 1 b/w south of leeville, hopedale isn't too far a drive from me, buras, empire. Also wanna try bass fishing a little probably off of old 55 cause it's a pretty short drive. If I want a quick morning trip

I want to get a light thingy like what you're describing. Someone posted a link to an article showing how to make one. Don't know if I bookmarked or not.

I've seen how to make one with a ping pong ball and pvc post but this was probably easier and not much more expensive. I used this light, this flag, 1 min 2 part epoxy, and a 1/2" pvc end cap.
That flag had a little ball on the end that slipped over the pole, took that off, drilled same size hole as pole in bottom of cap, slipped it over cap, roughed up the inside of the cap and outside of the base of the light with a dremel and just filled with epoxy and stuck the light base on, held it til it started setting and then let it finish.Put top of light back on and you just twist to turn on or off. It ain't super bright, but it's enough to mark where you are in the dark, and it didn't cost even $20.

Well nuts kinda suck for anything that'll be under stress.
Use a 23/64 drill bit to for the hole and they'll hold just fine. I've rigged 5 yaks with everything from anchor trollies to rod holders using well nuts and so far not a single one has pulled out. Most people over drill the hole and over-tighten the bolt causing the rubber fitting to pull through.

I used 10-24 well nuts and machine screws. Forget the drill bit size but it takes a lot of force to push the nut through the hole after, so it's pretty tight. I do believe I was guilty of overtightening. Took me 2 tries of loosening and starting over on one of the pole clips and 3 tries on the rod holder to make it hold well. Still makes me nervous. The rod holder still has one nut that doesn't hold well, I think the hole stretched when it pulled out the first time. It sucks.
I definitely rather the rivets when I can. Smaller the hole the less it hurts to drill it

this may have been asked already, but why do you have 6 rods/reels ? i've never fished with more than 2 and it's been plenty
Posted on 4/17/14 at 3:43 pm to TexasTiger34
Because I have 6 rod holders and I wanted to see how they all fit and make a cool picture?
I always bass fish with at least 6 from the big boat. I doubt I take more than 4 with me most of the time in this thing though.

what that run you about?
Posted on 4/17/14 at 3:54 pm to LSUvegasbombed
$550 + tax for the yak. About $150 for all the rest, hardware, crate stuff, fish bag, anchor trolley stuff, fish grips, flag and light, stuff to make the marsh pole, paddle, etc.
I'm in it right about $770ish total, taxes shipping and everything for all of it. Which was exactly my budget when I started looking
