You guys can't just swap the trolley from one side to the other? Mine is homemade. It's connected at the bow and stern and then in the center just by a figure 9 clip. How are your's installed?

I can unbolt and move mine to either side. Mine is mounted to the track system on the side of the boat (Commander 120).

Gotcha, I just swing mine over to whatever side. I have it on the right side because I hold my reel with my left, so I like to be able to adjust the anchor point and cut loose without switching the reel hand.

I could if I installed pad eye on both sides, but I would rather do as little drilling as possible

I just have it connected to a carabiner on the handles. Zero drilling for my trolley.

Took the yak out to a private lake for some bass fishing yesterday. To start, I packed everything up on my crate and proceeded to leave it home, so all I had was paddle, net, tackle box, and rods
I ended up using a couple boat cushions to sit on.
I was quite pleased with the new ascend. I was able to stand and cast and even boat and unhook smaller bass with no issue. It felt weird at first but quick to get used to. You won't be adjusting your footing much or standing straight legged and resting, but with a little athleticism to your stance balance is no problem at all.
It was a windy day and when sitting i found it didn't get pushed around as much as I expected, but positioning a yak in the wind does take some getting used to.
It was surprisingly easy for me to kneel and turn around and reach things in the front or back of the boat.
One lesson learned: I caught a 3.6# earlier in the day from a boat. While in the yak I hooked into something significantly bigger than that one, went for a short ride, when I got her to the yak and tried to net I didn't choke up on the rod and missed, fish peeled out drag under the yak and broke off
Boating big fish in this thing will take some trail and error I'm afraid.
Overall I'm really happy with my purchase for the price. Review of the seat and the crate I built and whatnot will have to wait until next trip when I'm not such a frickwad.
First slime on the yak
I also added bungee to my crate rod holders to hold the rods in place in case of flippage. No pics though.
TL;DR

Nice set up man. Any particular reason you set up your anchor trolley on the left side? I've been trying to decide which side I want to put mine on.
I cast right handed and just didn't want it on the right on the off chance I use my marsh pole anchored right beside me, it would interfere with my cast.
My trolley is easily unclipped, if I wanted it on the right in the future or the ability to switch sides I just would need to install 2 padeyes (which I have) on the right side in the same spots as the left

That was a little one
It was a 175 acre lake, they had a biologist come in and look at it and told them to take out everything 15" and under. I think we ended up with 29 (under 15") we kept, I had a 3.6# throwback, brother had a 4.1#, and there were a handful of other throwbacks caught. And he told us that was a slow day

It was right about $600 with tax new out the door. I spent another $150-$170 or so on gear for it.

It's addicting. Some days you just don't feel like messing around with a real boat. Yaks are perfect for those days.

I tried this at first, but the way this yak is shaped and the handle positions it wasn't working out right, to get the trolley to sit high enough up to be out of the water it would want to ride over the tankwells in the front and back. I was gonna then use some padeyes to align it along the side then just said frick it and decided to run it padeye to padeye. I have a bungee loop doubled over through padeye on front and back and then caribiner clipped through it with pulley clipped onto carabiner.
