When are you moving?

So this has nothing to do with why France's economy is in the shitter?

France can do what they want and they're free to fall behind if they want as well.

I have this right granted to me already.
If there is a work call or e-mail on a Sunday or Football Saturday I don't respond until Monday.
Its not hard.

You liberal wankers are all exactly the same. Not an oz. of testosterone, determination, individuality or excellence amongst you. A whole liberal Universe of limp-wristed, effete complainers, all dreaming of a day when no effort whatsoever will be required.
"Gimme shite. Cut my hours. Guarantee my job. Increase my pay. Attend to my needs. More vacation".
Meh Nation.
More Belgian than American.
Unfit for duty.

Here's my question. Say we reduce our work week by a day here. Reduce works hours per day by an hour or so, give everyone 2 hours lunches, and have 2-3 hour breaks at some point throughout the day, receive 50% more vacation time, more holidays, etc.....at what point does the following happen:
1) Do we start complaining about THAT being too much of a workload and gripe for less work
2) We see a reduction in pay because our output and work responsibilities are non existent
You seem to think employers are obligated to give us compensation for minimal work. Wouldn't surprise me if at some point, people such as yourself would think that if we quit a job, our employer is required to pay us a full salary plus benefits for years because well, it would give everyone a better quality of life.
Work is exactly that...it's WORK. You are paid to perform duties based on your acceptance of that position.
Even still, do you really think people are actually doing something work related all 40 hours of the work week? Sometimes I am, sometimes, I have some down time when business is slow. Sometimes I can cut out early because of it, and sometimes I may have to come in on a weekend to get something done for Monday.
I understand the premise of a better work environment and not allowing work to ruin your private life, but at some point people act like it's their God given right to have money, insurance, 401k, perks, etc... for little to no work.
Be an adult. Make decisions that put you in a position to have a good employer. Otherwise, adapt and adjust until you reach your ideal situation.

Work for yourself. Problem solved.

I find this ironic how things come around full circle, there once were laws and some still exist that tried to strike a "work-life" balance. They were called Blue Laws.
I'm sure if the state were enacting these same laws so the OP would have the opportunity to attend to his religious duties he would be having a melt down.

Meh, France's economy is shitty and their per capita production is even shittier.
Liberals love pointing out the things in Europe which they agree with while choosing to ignore all the problems there which are either absent or minimal here. They love European "tolerance" while ignoring that many countries are 50 years away from being ruled at the highest level by Islamic law. They love their healthcare system while ignoring all the wealthy Europeans who come here for care and how nearly every tangible measure of morbidity and mortality across all disease states is higher there. They love their system of government oversight while ignoring that few business owners have any market freedom.

If you possess desired skills you can negotiate a sweet work environment for yourself right here in the U.S.. If not you can move somewhere where the government can protect you from the rigors of work and accomplishment.

French MDs must be pleased.

So I guess with this new law if I had an employee set to take a 6AM flight on Monday, but the plans changed over the weekend, I would have to wait until Monday morning to call him at the airport. Or I could have sent him an email Saturday letting him know he does not have to be in the office until 9am Monday since the trip was cancelled.

Before you make the big plunge and volunteer to get on the plane I hope you have kept up with the unemployment stats in Europe nation by nation. France is near the lead in them which is why the Le Pen party advanced so much in the recent elections.

Honestly, I won't be satisfied until employers are allowed to physically whip their employees. Don't like it? Work somewhere else, pussy!

The new law and court ruling goes overboard, imo. That said, I do think the French do tend to have a healthy balance between work and personal lives. Plus it's a pretty nice country all the way around.

The mandatory vacation time europeans get is pretty sweet not going to lie. Along with a 32 hour work week.
