Yep. He's playing with their U21's

So we can officially call it an epic failure?

Honestly, I think Poyet is a g-d idiot. Jozy has twice as many chances created per minute of playing time as Fletcher, and also he doesn't spit on cabbies.

This is in reference to when the two were competing for playing time.

Also Poyet left Adam Johnson on the bench at the start of the game last week, and he's by far their most productive player. Like I said, complete idiot.

Yeah it's pretty bad. I assume the purpose was for match fitness so hopefully he kills it and gets called back to the 18

What makes you think it's a match fitness issue?

It's just conjecture from a string of tweets I've seen.

Poyet has limited options at forward. Best to drop Jozy down, allow him to maintain or even improve his fitness while giving someone else a shot to lead the front line.

I doubt it will work if this is actually what he's doing since the supply from midfield is so incredibly poor but Poyet has no other choice but to switch things up.

I'm not sure why he doesn't switch things up at midfield or at least on a formation level. Put two strikers up top and play a 4-4-2 or something. His midfield is what really blows (well, along with their defense and I guess their forwards) so shake that up. Don't play Clattermole and try putting the Italian international in for a change. Maybe then you would get some creativity in the midfield and better service to your forwards.

Which is why I would agree with you in that Poyet is an idiot

What I said might not be his thoughts but it doesn't make sense that he would drop Jozy like that unless he wanted him to keep playing or maybe Jozy's pissed that Sunderland is this bad got on his bad side

Of course as soon as I say that Cattermole scores, but I think my point still stands. All that dude knows how to do is make a negative pass and kill fast breaks.

if jozy wasn't a yank none of us would give a shite anyway. the fact is, this is sunderland's mess starting at the top. this is what you get when you appoint back-to-back managers from swindon and brighton.

i still think gus has a good future as a manager but di canio was a disaster and i have no fricking clue what they were thinking going down that route. the whole team has been stuck in a rut since then. at least they were respectably mediocre before then

I wouldn't say an epic failure, I would say that him developing for sunderland is taking longer than "instant". A player can get better after the first season.

maybe he's just not a premier league player... remember he also failed at Hull and they got relegated...

besides MLS can always use star strikers

Hull and Sunderland are probably the two worst teams I've ever seen play in the PL, except for maybe that Derby County team that Benny Feilhaber was on.

Two goals against Nigeria change this?

2 goals for the US doesn't mean that Jozy's Sunderland move wasn't a flop. Means that he's still a good player in spite of it.

You're the one who says he's lazy, and afraid of contact

Two goals against Nigeria doesn't change that.

Organization was a complete dumpster fire before the gus bus drove in. Hopefully him being there awhile will give us some legitimate stability. Jozy played much better towards the end of the season. He will a nice number 2 option behind Connor going forward.

I'm not wrong. It took him almost an entire season to change up his formation, and once he did that's when the midfielders started getting better service to the forwards.
