I don't think it's just Exxon stores who sold the gas. See this post from a previous thread on the bad gas, and his other reply farther down.
We took my vehicle in for tires this week and my husband casually asked the guy if he'd seen any problems with the bad gas, and he said the same thing--that Exxon gas could be in any number of other-name stores.
FWIW, I haven't had any problems since I did what I posted in the previous thread, which was use some Seafoam gas treatment and add some premium gas a couple of times. I'll show my husband this thread later though so he can check out some of the other things posted.

Must be bad additives if only Exxon is dealing with this situation, because ethanol isn't proprietary. Unless they are all pulling out of the Exxon terminal.

Same problem exactly, same Exxon in Zachary. Never thought about it until your post. Wife has 2011 Buick Enclave. Filled up, went to start, sounded sick or flooded, tough to crank, ended after 30 seconds and couldn't get to repeat. Brought to g lane, tested it, said everything was cool. Left there and ironically ended up at same gas station (I know right), same exact problem. Brought it back and they told me about the sticking valves. They did something and it hasn't happened since, bit I also haven't fueled up at that Exxon again.

All the major players buy and sell non-additive fuel to each other. It doesn't matter to Motiva if Exxon owns the fuel or vice versa. Hell, a lot of the time they actually store the fuel together. Additives are what make a fuel proprietary. Heck, the Harvey terminal has around 4-5 different position holders that can pull fuel out of there.

The Exxon terminal in BR ships to Exxon, Shell, Chevron, non branded stations, etc. The additives pumped into the truck with the gasoline changes the branding. They shipped out 5 million gallons of the affected gasoline. They claim to have been able to pinpoint where the gasoline was shipped and didn't affect premium grade gasoline.

It was supposedly all pumped out and replenished with fresh batches so there should be no more bad gasoline in the area.

My Jeep has been running badly for the past couple of months, could it be caused by this bad gas?
What'll happen is one of or some combination of the following:
-No power from a stop - engine sputters and knocks but won't "go" much faster than an idle. Sometimes this lasts for just a second, sometimes it lasts up to 10-15 seconds. After a while it'll just catch and go like nothing was wrong.
-Engine loses power while at speed - I'll be driving along and the engine just loses power for a split second. Sometimes once, sometimes it'll happen a few times in succession.
-Engine dies at a standstill - like it says, I'll be in traffic somewhere and engine just cuts off. I'm able to restart each time with no problem but its damned annoying.
Sometimes these problems show up repeatedly in a 5-minute drive, sometimes they don't show up at all in a 50-minute drive. I've taken it to mechanics but they can't replicate the problem and the engine isn't throwing any codes. I'm worried that whatever it is is going to kill my engine and no one can figure out the problem.

I think my husband's Toyota Four Runner had a problem related to bad gasoline. Didn't put 2+2 together until the car was refilled last weekend. For about a week prior to the refill, the truck was hell to start. It's a standard and it seemed the only way I could get it started was to put the clutch down to the floor and then it took a few tries. Immediately after the truck was refilled last weekend, it starts like there is no problem. I do think the gasoline was a problem and the refill cured it.

Holy shite. This same thing happened to me. And my trailblazer.
Thing ran great with 160,000 miles.
I get a tank at Exxon in Broussard on hwy 90 and it wouldn't start and when it finally did the whole engine shook like it was gonna fall out.
As soon as I made it through that tank those problems stopped but now my engine still shakes a little bit. Never did before.
I might have to call this hotline

Don't want to hijack this but the Exxon in Zachary has no signage about ethanol in their gas. The distributor in St. Francisville says that station is ethanol free. When I called the station they said the gas does have ethanol.
My Tundra was spitting and coughing when started a few wee3ks ago........never thought about the gas.

Have you verified this? I am used to fill up there almost exclusively and I seem to remember the ethanol stickers on the pump.
That was the only Exxon gas that was purchased and I definitely have the symptoms that the "bad gas" is causing.

ME TOO! I called the hotline and gave my information. The guy called me back Friday and said since I filled up at a Valero and Exxon and Valero don't have an agreement to provide gas to each other, that I have to take it up with the individual station and seek reimbursement from them. I've since filled up with non ethanol gas and added Lucas fuel conditioner and my car is running much better, but my check engine light is still on.

Just got a call from exxon. They said that they had a number of problems from the Exxon Mobil station in Zachary.
He also said that they don't know which stations received what gas. They are having to test the gas to see. That means all exxon stations are potentially tainted.
He said in some cases they are giving people the blue-book value on the car if the engine change out is more than the value of the car.
I told the guy I am repairing my car currently. He said keep all of the receipts and I would be reimbursed for all of the parts related to the repair.
Sounds like they are trying to make this right but I sure would like to have my weekend back.

I have never seen an ethanol sticker there. I filled up there one day last week, no sticker on any pumps that I could see. Next time you go there take a look and report back.
