Holy shite, this movie was light years better than I thought it would be.

Not the thrill ride of Avengers, but extremely solid for it.

I chuckle now at a guy on here who scorned the element of the trailer that "So what, now every movie will climax with Sheild's flying bases going down?"

Literally couldn't be further than what really happened.

This film was excellent and not just as a comic book film. You could remove the "super hero" elements from the film and still have a very fine action/spy drama. Marvel really has it together the way they are setting up each film and how they all tie together. They are running so many circles around DC right now, I doubt DC ever catches up. To your left DC, to your left.

If I had to make a crossover movie ranking for comparison I'd say:

First place (tied) - CA2:WS and Batman Begins
Second Place - TDK (joker half)
Third Place - CA1

Unranked because they are absolutely terrible: TDK (Two Face Half) and all of the TDKR

My point: even with an average first installment of CA1, if CA3 can deliver...then the Captain America Trilogy will be >>>>> Nolan's Batman trilogy

Damn. That movie was awesome! In the other thread the OP says there were 2 post credit scenes and I only saw the first..

Spoilers..

I only saw the one with the Scientist guy and the twins doing crazy shite. Was there another one after this? If so what was it?

Also. Did the scientist guy (I'm assuming Dr. Strange??) have Loki's scepter?

The Winter Soldier goes to the Captain America Exhibit at the Smithsonian. And stares sadly at the Bucky section.

Oh ok. So who is Dr. Strange?

Also I'm assuming something is going to happen to the burnt up bad guy they saved in the near future?

They just name dropped him. He did not appear in the film.

Brock Rumlow, He becomes Crossbones. He chases Cap relentlessly, and is Red Skull's right hand.

Honestly, See the other thread for more, but I thought it was the best Marvel movie yet. On par, and maybe better than The Avengers (mostly because it was far more personal).

It just did everything so well, most of all Evans turn as Cap is just fantastic for the character. And they let him go wild from the Ship at see, to the chase scenes, finally.

Think about after both FA and Avengers, people were asking why with a high-tech power suit, a God and an unstoppable monster...why would anyone need Cap. This movie answered that. I thought BW and Fury had great screen time. Falcon was perfect, and well used. And TWS is just a great guy to have around the MCU. He opens a lot of doors.

Let's just hope they recast dumb ole Hugo Weaving well and bring Skull back for 3.

I was rather awestruck in the first watching of Avengers, but this has a much more coherent plot. CA and his moral center were a great contrast to the grey area of intelligence bureaus.

I also liked this movie because it was clear Hydra = Obama

That's interesting, because I have always thought Cap was the central figure in Avengers. He truly became the leader by the time the attack started

If SHIELD is disbanded, who is in charge of all of the weapons they have been making after the events of Iron Man and on?

Even though SHIELD is an older organization, their importance on the world stage was probably much greater after the Battle of New York.

Saw it this morning at Perkins Rowe, I was the first person in the entire building

Great movie! I agree with what others have said, the extra effort they put into the regular folks getting hit or kicked by Cap really helps give that feel of being much stronger than normal people. The fight scenes were great and lasted a nice long time.

The effects worked extremely well and were seamless.

The story was well-done. I thought Redford's character might be involved at the beginning, but I didn't see it being all a Hydra plot. I loved the casual chats between Cap & Widow. Good stuff.

I can't wait to get the Blu-Ray so I can pause it to see who all the other folks were that the system was targetting. I'm willing to bet there were some other Easter Eggs there.
