No need to get defensive when somebody calls you out. It's just a message board. Unclench your bowels. Quit trying to tell errbody what to think or do.

But why are so many posters here afraid to call a spade a spade?
I don't think many posters have a problem with pointing out racism. It's the application of the the same standard of racism across the racial playing field that is taken umbrage at.

Ebony senior digital editor Jamilah Lemieux sure is! This morning, she went after RNC deputy press secretary Raffi Williams (Juan Williams’ son):

NC,
We will agree to disagree. But, I respect you and your opinion seems real and well considered.
My dad told me " I'll not make your way soft, because you will not get calluses by handling pillows. I'll not carry your load because you'll not develop muscles without pushing against resistance. "
Black college students can use calluses and muscles.
Again, I respect the hell out of your position and posts.

Peer shame is awesome
Now it could be this whole thing is a strawman.
As stated earlier, I don't know what "fully integrate" means in the OP context. Subsequently someone here posted that the UA Greeks are already "fully integrated". Either that is true or it isn't. Simple enough precept. If it is true, then the Greek students there must be incapacitated in some way, otherwise one would presume they should be able to eviscerate unfair critics.

You called me out on what exactly? Because I think shaming is effective? Why not call out the others who agree with me?

The Alabama student Senate is not a private organization taking $0.00 in federal dollars. DID YOU READ THE frickING ARTICLE?
You don't seem that social, so I don't expect you to know how these organizations work. The University allows these organizations to exist through the Panhellenic Council. The national sorority then issues a charter establishing a chapter of that sorority on campus. Let me assure you that these organizations are self supporting.
Let me be perfectly clear- THESE GREEK ORGANIZATIONS ARE NOT SUBSIDIZED BY THE UNIVERSITY. If you want something far more offensive, google DEKE at LSU. They've been kicked off campus many times, but remain. Why? Because they own the house and the property they are on, so the university can't do shite. Sorry.

How about the correspondent lesson from perspective of the white students? Is their take-home message also "Black college students can use calluses and muscles?"

Glad you liked it.
The Left while it likes to picture itself as a beacon of tolerance, is the most intolerant group around. Stray from your assigned group ID, and you're attacked.
Although in this case it was more of "Whitey, you ain't got nothing to say that would interest me, and because you're white, you're not allowed to say anything anyway."

her response AFTER the gaffe was exposed was classic groupthink
i saw it a lot debating shite during the trayvon trial. if you proved them wrong, they just responded in the same way. i don't want to talk to you anymore. stop talking to me. my tweets aren't for you. etc

Yes it does depend on the frat. I was really referencing DEKE at LSU. If the frat or sorority doesn't own the property they are on, then the University can take steps to kick them off campus. However, there's nothing to keep those students from continuing in off campus activity.

Yes
You and I don't differ at all on value of experience in dealing with unfairness or adversity. There is an acquired toughness in those experiences. It often leads to better, stronger personal growth. That's a good thing.
Where we are differing is in regard to the antithetical.

Beyond "shame and shun" by people that think differently, there is nothing to be done.
I do not think any person or group exercising freedom and rights should EVER be subjected to the boot of authority.
The decision is right. The administration should do nothing.
I, and those that feel as I do, can and should ignore / shame them. THAT alone should be the consequence of this.

When I'm traveling, I'll try to drop in on a local church if I can. I've been to several black churches where I got what I needed. I remember one particular black church in MS where I got the major stink eye. I walked out of that church thinking they were a bunch of racists, but after a while I though they just may not have liked the way I dressed. Maybe it wasn't my skin color they were upset about.

Yep!
Wearing that "Saban is GOD" Shirt to church was a bad choice.
