So here's a counterpoint that I am certain Tuba will ignore.
Let's assume the Student Senate went the other way and forced the sororities to integrate. Who would choose which girls would have to get selected? Would there be some University administrator giving approval to every member? What kind of message would that send to the girl that was selected only bc she's black?
Going a step further, would they force a quota that applies to ALL Greek organizations, white and black? Would the Greek organizations accept that? I doubt it. They would just move their organizations off campus.
To me this is the classic solution to every liberal's problem with the world- we need more government control!

I hope this hurts Alabama in football recruiting. I hope young black people stop going to Alabama because of this. I would love to see Nick explain this to a black football recruit's family.

A better solution would be to simply identify all fraternity/sorority members by race or ethnicity, then randomly assign each member to a random frat/soro to achieve proper racial/ethnic diversity. Sound whacky? Look up busing.

This happens at every SEC school- even LSU. Not only that but football players don't join IFC frats. It's not an issue in football.
Now the players unionizing, that's a whole different issue...

This is an issue in football. Why should a black guy bust his arse on the football field for a bunch of white racist sorority girls who have the gall to cheer him on the field.
This will be used in negative recruiting against Alabama.

Yep. And my issue with that is this:
Let's say you have a black girl who grew up in a middle class white neighborhood, went to school with whites, attended church with whites, had only white friends. Due to no fault of her own, she has effectively zero exposure to black culture.
She then attends the University of Alabama and hopes to join a white sorority, but because of the alumnae, she is now forced to either 1) join a black sorority with people she assumes to have little in common with, or 2) join no sorority at all.
It's incredibly irresponsible to assume that people are happier among others of their own race.

If this were true the black football player should have stayed away from the SEC a long time ago. Didn't happen, and I doubt anything is changing now. Again, it's not an issue in football.

This is hard to say. Some people would be angry, but others would just be happy to be in. IT all depends on the person.
