What was the cost? Pros and cons? Is it worth it? I'm tired of wearing contacts

$1500 an eye. All pros, no cons. Yes.

I hate contacts. My eye doctor told me a couple weeks ago that I could get LASIK now because my Rx hasnt changed in years. So I am pretty stoked

Best money ever spent. Did it in 1999 at LSU medical. Have had 20/15 vision ever since. I had 20/400 going in. I couldn't even read the big E at the top of an eye chart.

$2500 for both eyes at Williamson. I flexed the money so never really missed it. No cons, best money ever spent.

You won't find someone who has had it that regrets it. Do it. Worth every dime, and for God's sake don't bargain shop. This is your eyes we're talking about here. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Yes. Best money I ever spent. I think it was $1400 an eye. I have had glasses since 3rd grade. Every morning I wake up and think about how awesome it is that I can immediately open my eyes and see and not fumble around for glasses on the nightstand.
eta: Don't bargain shop. Find THE BEST. Your vision is too important to scrimp on. I had mine done on a Friday and I was normal the next day. But to be on the safe side, I stayed in bed on Saturday and kept my eyes closed most of the day. I had to put eye drops in my eyes for about a year, but I rarely have to do so anymore. The procedure took 15 minutes.

I had the old school "RK" (with a knife) surgery on mine back in '93. One of the best things I ever did. Would not hesitate to do LASIK. 20+ years of no glasses/contacts has been wonderful!

I did it about 10 years ago for around $2000 total. Never regretted it. I was near-sighted and needed glasses or contacts. Had the surgery and only need reading glasses unless I can hold a book far enough away.
I recommend the surgery. Greatly increased my joy in hunting/fishing.

Mine went without a hitch in 1999.
1200 per eye at Williamson. It's incredible.

I had lasik done about a year ago. I was -5.5 and -6.5 with a very slight astigmatism. See perfect now without anything. Best decision I've made. I had it done on a Tuesday afternoon and drove myself to work the next morning with no glasses. I did the top of the line thing. Can't remember the exact name. Bladeless wavefront or something like that. Went so quick the Valium hadn't even kicked in yet. I used Dr. Singer in Metairie.

~2500 per eye, but at a top-of-the-line doc & a location i could walk to from my house at the time. also they got me in for my screening + actual procedure in a total of 3 days. so i didn't mind paying more per eye
i had a very irritating feeling in my eyes for the following 24 hours. however i was able to make a 9 hour drive (partially at night) the day after that
still better than 20/20 after 3 years- best fricking money i ever spent
eta: previously was worse than 20/100 in both eyes + astigmatism

So Dr. Woo, Williamson, and Singer did everyone here? Any other recommendations?
