The BMW 335i Gran Turismo looks pretty cool. In that price range I'd probably go with that.

Why would anyone want to buy a tall lumpy 3-Series? The only reason that abomination exists is because Americans are allergic to buying the 328i/d Sport Wagon.

Toyota Highlander, Subaru Outback, or Toyota Avalon.

I really like the 5 series Gran Turismo, but it's out of the price range of what he's looking at. Same with the X6.
The sport wagon is hideous.

Do not get a Tahoe or Yukon... You'll have an awful time parking them in the city. If you need something that big get a Sequoia. If you don't need anything that big get a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Make sure you get a 4x4

I used to a be Toyota person, but someone recommend Hyundai Elantra and I couldn't ask for a better car. I love it! My note is $300 per month and I get at least 30MPG highway. I would recommend to anyone. They also have nice SUVs in case you were looking for something with more room. But I would definitely look at Hyundai.
