What do you guys think of fedoras?

I got a new fedora for Christmas and I've been wearing it around campus because I know it makes me look 
.
So earlier tonight I was out and my friend pulled me aside and told me the fedora was lame, obviously I knew that wasn't true but he assured me that everyone looks down upon fedoras what do guys think?
