I heard a rumor that they received an offer they couldn't refuse on the place. This may be a conspiracy theorist but he swears certain Jeff Parish big wigs are buying up land in Fat City with hopes of a Lakeside expansion and retail development.
I think this is probably bs b/c those apt complexes are still there, but I'll be keeping an eye on development.
