There is no such thing. I think you mean a bold faced lie?????????
I haven't looked at tickets in a while. Last time I looked at tickets they weren't all a premium price, which is what my statement was based on.
FYI Season tickets are still the same price. We just got less home games this year which DOES make the cost of the tickets different.

I meant the LSU statement not yours-sorry for the misunderstanding.

Over heartbreak from the TCU game?
Seriously?
Far from it. I will still be going to games.
With the away game, which I went to and paid for, the lousy home schedule with distinct lack of big night games, and rain on the one night SEC home game we had, I took a beating on my tickets this year. I can only attend one TS game this year and that will be TAM
Face plus TAF for 4 season tickets minus what I was able to sell the remaining tickets for (still have not sold Arky) means I will be paying double or more than double face plus TAF (115) per seat for the one TS game I will be able to go to.
Couple that with the time and effort it takes to sell tickets each week versus finding tickets for only one game and it is a loosing battle.

In baseball, the proposal calls for 1,700 of the seats in Alex Box Stadium to have a reduced donation while another 2,500 seats (29%) will either have donation levels reduced or will pay no donation at all.
That doesn't make sense.
I'm afraid someone made a mistake and it's supposed to say, "...the proposal calls for 1,700 of the seats in Alex Box Stadium to have an increased donation while another 2,500 seats (29%) will either have donation levels reduced or will pay no donation at all."

Don't confuse fans not showing up with fans not buying tickets. They sell all their season tickets and have people waiting in line. LSU gets paid whether or not they show up.
I'm pretty sure people know that by now, but with us being on tv all the time, this is going to look really bad seeing tons of empty seats every game. People say, well I've paid my money, I've done enough, these is kinda a bad way of thinking that the majority of America (maybe the world) has. It's not just football, giving back in general.

You're right, just got a corrected press release:

I will correct the OP.

Lol. There is people I know and people in this thread that have already stated they won't be renewing. Sounds like you have your head in the sand just like the athletic department.
Give give give and just crap on the fans with a horrible game day experience. I don't even know what to say about that pathetic scoreboard, and pretty soon the band won't be allowed to play.

they better think about what they lose in concession sales when people don't show up....
What I hope happens, tradition fund goes away for the upper deck tickets (I read something about that a while back) and that minimum tradition fund amounts are in place for the north and south end zones....

Agree, when you have a 4-1 LSU playing 4-1 UF in front of 77,000 fans, we have a problem.

This is the first time since 2010 that we have sought a price increase for football,” LSU Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva said. “This increase is necessary for us to stay competitive at the highest level of collegiate athletics, but also because of the rising costs of doing business on a daily basis.
Brilliant frickheads. What they don't say is that the last price increase they voted in and implemented in 2010 consisted of a 3 year price increase. So they so kindly allowed us to have one year (2013) without a price increase. Thanks alot. When this vote on price increases is performed, it will be for another 3 year price increase each year. LSU is a smart business. Avoid those taxes by raising those "TAF donation fees". No other business could do this.

They should add in some places and take away in others. The asinine game day parking on campus (not reserved parking) needs to go away. Also, if you're asking me for more money (I have baseball and football season tickets), that's fine, but please use some of the extra money to offset taking down the ads that literally take up 2/3 of the scoreboard in TS.
No shite. Could you just leave a little space along the outfield wall that's not trying to sell me shite, maybe hold off selling advertising on my ticket stub, let me check the score on the scoreboard as a non-captive audience/non- consumer. . I've bought enough already. Just make me feel a little less like a sucker?

Alleva .....Win Championships , then u n ur boys can raise prices .....only way u should raise prices is if u are producing !! My Opinion ....

I've had my seats for at least 15 years and there are others in my family for over 50 years(parents old tickets). I fully understand that prices will continue to go up. I drive from Houston for every game and I wouldn't do it if I didn't think it was worth it. But at some point, the fans will have to start dictating the behavior of the University by staying away. I don't expect that to happen any time soon.
Next year's schedule is a total abomination. 4 consecutive home games against teams with a 0% chance of even being competitive is not an enticement for me to travel that much. I am sure we will skip at least one of those.

That's going to be a hard sell to the football fans that already don't go to the games. Add the shitty home schedule next season, and there will be quite a few people not renewing their seats.
It's like a small snowball rolling down the mountain gathering size and speed until it's a monster that can't be stopped. The Wine and Cheese Fartknockers will take over. TS will never be the same.
Posted on 10/18/13 at 7:48 am to mightynine
I don't understand the need to raise prices especially with 10,000 additional seats added to the stadium starting in 2014, The problem with this change in pricing is that football ticket revenue pays for all other sports. Joe you need a reality check, how bout reducing the salaries of coaches in other sports especially both men's and women's head basketball coaches.
LSU better be careful with the financial burden they place on the loyal fans especially with all the problems people are encountering when attending the games.

Great idea. I'll gladly pay more for a crappy home schedule. One prime game. (bama) The rest are pretty crappy.

It will be interesting to see how this new pricing model shakes out. At the end of the day, I will likely end up dropping my 4 season tickets in the SEZ. As has been mentioned numerous times, the sorry home out of conference schedule is just pathetic. We get a decent neutral site game and what does that mean for the majority of season ticket holders? We get rewarded with the opportunity to purchase garbage seats in the upper deck for those games. Same situation for bowl games.
