Draw an X between eyes and ears. Shoot in middle of x. If you shoot between the eyes will go into sinuses and not brain, not good. But a blunt object to base of skull and then stand on front shoulder. Should be down quickly.

You will need more than one shot. I point-blanked one with a .22 caliber pellet rifle with a cro-mag pellet and it wasn't enough to kill it. I felt like shite about it. I finished it off with a baseball bat.

(I killed it because it was going after my dog. Otherwise I would have left it alone)

Anyhow... even the bat wasn't an instakill. Maybe I just had a tough coon. My advice: Sledge it or 9mm it.

just hit the poor bastard with a shovel or stick. the whole pellet gun thing will never work. You'll miss or it won't have enough arse to do any good.

find an old axe handle or bat and hit him right on the crown of his noggin. game over.

Put him in the garage and nurse him back to health.
If it kills him then, it's safe to assume it would have killed him now.

HaHa! I've not had good experiences feeding raccoons around the house. At the beginning it's neat watching "the cute little raccoons." After a little while, though, they literally take over the neighborhood.
