Pretty pathetic how much you people bitch.
Amen. I stayed the whole game soaked from head to toe, and I dont blame a single person for leaving. Many thought game was well in hand, covered by the rain. The rant is making me sick today.

Fans are supposedly fanatics.

Does anyone else believe that emptying the stands early affects the play on the field?

I can understand that getting wet and cold isn't fun and that's why any smart fan buys good rain gear for days like Saturday.

Now I wouldn't recommend bringing little kids out, or reluctant wives to a contest like the Auburn game. Only real fanatics enjoy themselves in that kind of weather and forcing people to stay isn't fair to them.

But it is alarming to see people leave in mass at halftime for three consecutive games. I see a trend here and I see college football turning into purely a corporate and TV game at this rate.

Here's the message Tiger Fans need to give Les Miles. When leading, please throw the dam ball, especially when back-up qb come in, then WE'LL STAY!!!

Les Miles couldnt give 2 shits about you staying for the game. All he cares about is winning, as he should.

Maybe LSU could come up with a policy that allows ticketer leaving to be able to give ticket stubs to another person so that the stands wont empty.

There is a difference between what Bo Pelini did, and Les saying "We need your support for 60 mins."

Agree. This is getting out of hand. We're not even obligated to buy tickets, let along stay the whole game.

I've asked former players if the fans make a difference, and everyone of them have said yes. Hell, I asked Zach Strief how big of a deal it was playing in front of the fans at the Dome.

From a purely logical standpoint, it was a hell of a lot more difficult for the Auburn offense to communicate and execute in the first half than tha second half. That makes a difference, especially to a guy starting his first game in TS.

It's really ridiculous to generalize about the leaving early. Women are different than men. lol Single guys are not the same as husbands with kids and a nag. lol lol Social climbers see the game as a preliminary to the real event, the party afterwards. lol lol lol And besides, the traffic is a bitch!!! lol lol lol lol

That's what it's all about!!! The Fans make a difference and to dismiss the issue saying, "les miles doesn't give a shite" is just plain ignorant.

The rain was the excuse for the Auburn game but fans have been leaving early for years now. I sit in the NEZ (have for 25 years) and fans usually use trafiic as the go to excuse for leaving early. Does anyone remember the West Virginia game a few years back? Good opponent, never a blow out, good enough weather and about 50,000 fans in the seats in the third quarter, but you keep telling yourselves it was the rain. A half full TS early in the third quarter is now an LSU tradition, it takes a special game for our fans to stay because they now have more imporatnt things to do than have to sit and watch LSU play football 6 to 8 times a year. I love it when people talk about the "passion" LSU fans have, I guess they just don't attend the games.

Two things. He is 21 years old. At 21 I would have stayed forever. He is not the smartest Moran, I AM.

I'm usually one to bitch about people who "can't wait for football season" then once its here leave at halftime but this week I just can't. The first quarter was awesome when everyone had some drinks in them and very little inhibition about the rain coming down. But the fact is the rain had been coming down for three hours before the game and then the whole first quarter. I'm not going to lie once you started becoming less drunk and that breeze set in, it was pretty damn miserable. I for one stayed and was soaked but I'm a lunatic and can't really blame those that left... especially people with wives and young kids they didn't want to get sick.

Newsflash slick: It was a 100% chance of rain for a week. Buy a fricking poncho. It's rain, not Hydrochloric acid.

All I will say about the issue is that it can't be both ways. We, as a fan base, cannot reasonably get upset with the team for shutting it down and throttling back early against Auburn when we, as a fan base, can't support the team for the majority of the game.

It had everything to do with the weather, very little about the game.

2 years ago we beat the pants off of Auburn. It was loud as hell in the 4th quarter when it was 42-3 and there were plenty of people still in the stands. It was fun b/c everyone was anticipating someone getting killed on the kickoffs.
The majority of the stadium was full until after the first drive or two after we got to 42 late in the 3rd quarter early 4th b/c it was obvious Les didn't want to score again.

Point is, the fans didn't give up on this blowout, mainly b/c it was a beautiful day and it's fun to beat the crap out of Auburn.
Had it been raining all day and during the game, people would most likely have left that game as well.
