As LSU recognized the 25th anniversary of the Earthquake Game, a night when Tiger fans were loud enough to move the earth, fans were chased from the building by what coach Les Miles called “a very stiff dew.”

Twenty-five years ago, 80,000 Tiger fans could cause an earthquake. Now, 80,000 of them can’t stick it out through some inclement weather. Oh, how far the “greatest college football fans on earth” have fallen.

Made good points.

However he also failed to mention that there were recruits at this game as well.

I'm usually one to bitch about people who "can't wait for football season" then once its here leave at halftime but this week I just can't. The first quarter was awesome when everyone had some drinks in them and very little inhibition about the rain coming down. But the fact is the rain had been coming down for three hours before the game and then the whole first quarter. I'm not going to lie once you started becoming less drunk and that breeze set in, it was pretty damn miserable. I for one stayed and was soaked but I'm a lunatic and can't really blame those that left... especially people with wives and young kids they didn't want to get sick.

Really? So I could go to every home game and see Tony Brown, Fornette, Willis, Quinn every time?

Valid points raised in that Op-Ed.

All I will say about the issue is that it can't be both ways. We, as a fan base, cannot reasonably get upset with the team for shutting it down and throttling back early against Auburn when we, as a fan base, can't support the team for the majority of the game.

Dear Lord this is getting ridiculous. It looked like a blow out against an unranked opponent. Last year for USCe and Bama it was deafening until the end. When fans start leaving those games then we have a problem. It's not LSU's fault that Auburn sucks.

Also, they care far more about how many $300k NFL games checks were cashed yesterday than how many people sat in the rain Saturday night.

This is what usually leads to people leaving early. I'm sure most guys would stay whatever the conditions. Even when it's not raining, kids/wives get bored quickly and start whining about leaving.

And how can a 21 year old who's not even from LA talk about the glory days of LSU football fans? He's been going to games for what, 3 years now?
