Looking at Manziel's performance against Bama makes me wonder whether we (or anyone else) can stop him. 562 yards (464 passing; 98 running)against a Sabin defense is just unbelievable.

He had a great game against Saban's defense last season...and nonetheless we stopped him.

Stop being scared.

Did you see some of those passes that were thrown tho ? They were 50 yard rainbows that should have been batted away or picked . I get that his stats showed he had a great game but a ton of that yardage was flat out poor arse coverage on bamas part

Like Geno Smith, JM will get his yards. The key is to keep them out of the end zone as much as possible.

Contain, not smother.

Nobody calls him that and we're not going to start now.

The way to contain him is ball control

I'm thinking our O will be able to do this against that D

it was a monster performance against an elite team and an elite coaching staff. anyone who does not understand the multiple complexities of Manziel in Sumlin's offense and Manziels inate ability to extend plays and create with his feet is a fool. we have time and Chavis on our side and thankfully we have an off week between McCarron and Manziel. no matter what, it will be tough.

get better, get ready...get even.

LSUs defense is a different animal than Bama's. LSU's is actually better equipped to contain a jack rabbit. BUT, it has issues against a Bama type offense.

Also, do remember that JFF threw a few jump balls up and got very lucky, so the stats don't necessarily indicate passing prowess.

LSU just has to limit his crazy leg yardage and play disciplined football. He will get his yards, but its the score the Chief will focus on.

Just in the last 6 games of last year Saban's D gave up 435 to LSU, 418 to TAMU, and 394 to UGA. Every single game was decided by 5 points or less. When he plays a good SEC team, he faces an even challenge. He needs more of these during the year so his perception won't be skewed.

His defense and offense are worse than last year, and it will show. Actually, it already has.
