So I've taken a good bit of time off from listening to "texas country"
Used to listen to a lot of Ragweed (from Oklahoma) and Reckless Kelly (from Idaho i think). Also some REK, Randy Rogers, a little Wade Bowen etc.
Yall got any recommendations for some good texas country? Just made a Randy Rogers pandora and i'll probably hear some stuff I like on there, what else ya got?

American Aquarium and Turnpike Troubadours are popular on this board, and quite good Americana music.
The Departed is Cody Canada's new band.
Jason Boland still makes good music
Walt Wilkins is as good as ever
see also:
Band of Heathens, Damn Quails, Hayes Carll, James McMurtry, Justin Townes Earle, Micky and the Motorcars, Stoney Larue

Turnpike Troubadours is a must. Best to come out in a long time.

Brandon Rhyder
ETA- also Josh Abbott Band, Aaron Watson, and Whiskey Meyers. None are really new to the scene but always good stuff to go back to.

For my fun, Roger Creager.
Early Pat Green, goes sort of pop more recently.
However, one must include Ray Wylie Hubbard
who wrote "Wanna Rock and Roll" covered by Ragweed. I prefer McMurty's version of Choctaw Bingo

"I've seen Jerry Jeff .. 10 times this year .. he just keeps getting better all the time.
And I followed Robert Earl Keen from Dallas to the sparkling city by the sea .. jumped up on the sea wall and sang 'Corpus Christi Blues'."

Check out 7 Hours 2 Southland, can't go wrong. Eventually I'll mention them enough on this board and people will listen.
