Nightly bump. I'm thinking about us retiring this thread and opening a new one, collecting the stories in the first few posts. OP of this one doesn't seem to be interested in it any more. I would be willing to handle the new megathread.

That would be cool to have everything linked in the OP, also any stories that OT'ers went through the trouble of writing themselves.

Is this too long without having anything particularly scary? I'm going to get into the action soon.

“Now we’re going to start Chapter 8: Genetics in your life,” my biology teacher droned on in her usual monotonous voice. She continued, “Now genetics are key to us because they determine everything about us. Our hair color, eye color, height, sometimes diseases…”
“You alright man?” Eric whispered to me. Eric’s a freshman accounting major. We’d been friends since we sat together in the back on the first day of Biology.
“Yeah,” I replied, “I’m just ready to get these few classes out of the way and start my break.”
“I understand man. You going to Panama City, gonna party all week?” A smile cracked across his face.
I laughed. “You know that’s not my thing. I’m just looking forward to chilling at home.”
“Me too man.”
I focused back on Ms. Prater.
“One area that’s researchers are really pioneering in right now is genetic engineering. If used correctly, this could lead to groundbreaking medicine and technology. The danger is taking it too far, which is why I’m opposed to the practice. Troy’s involvement in this is one of the reasons I’m retiring at the end of this semester. There’s some lines I just don’t think we should cross.”
This caught my attention. What was Troy [University] doing with genetic engineering? I sat up and listened closer.
“Of course, there are a lot of other reasons I’m retiring. My body just isn’t able to work like it used to. My almond milk is the only thing keeping me in decent health. I love almond milk, there are so many benefits to it. There’s…”
I zoned back out. I opened my laptop and signed into reddit. “Compose message” “To: JennLegend3.”
Me: So, I'm sitting in biology, and we're talking about genetics. My teacher starts talking about how she's against genetic engineering and resigning because of Troy's involvement with it. You don't think....?
Jenn: I’m not sure where you’re going?
Me: I'm probably overthinking things. She just seemed really disgusted by the work the university is doing, and that stalker had a tail. I'm probably just equating way too much in my mind.
Jenn: I was just thinking about it in the shower. I do my best thinking in the shower. Anyways. Do you think it's some weird genetic experiment gone wrong? But why would it follow your unless maybe it has some of YOUR genes. Idk. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. But nothing is impossible.
If you’re lost, it’s because you haven’t read my other three stories. Don’t worry, I’ll link them at the end. For now, you can just read this story and read those afterward to better understand how this all began.
“Okay class, that’s all I have for you today. Have a good break, and don’t forget we’ll have our exam on the Tuesday you all get back. Be safe.”
“Why would she give us an exam on the first day back from break?” Eric complained as we got up and grabbed our backpacks. “Does she really think anyone’s going to study? Oh well. Have a good break man.”
“You too.” I stuffed my laptop in my bag and headed to US History. Two more classes and my break would officially begin.

This would be the hard part. I may make a blog and paste the stories there and link to them. It would take up a ton of space otherwise.

Wait, do you go to Troy?
I hadn't seen the pics posted until I logged in from my phone. For some reason they're blocked here at work.

I love that this thread is still going, although I am disappointed that the last 5+ pages have basically been Mr. Tide trying to pimp his own nosleep stories and begging for upvotes (chill out, dude).
But since you (Tide) post on nosleep, can you give any additional information or reasons as to why the badass "Found something weird in my office basement" story hasn't ever been updated more than once ( Here is the only update it ever had)..?
Also, I've read every single story (except for a few in the last5-ish pages that were linked that I have saved and ready to read), and Penpals is still by far the best one. That's such an awesome and completely engrossing story that is solid from start to finish (and even has a badass ending).
I'm interested to check out the Case Files one, though that one is LONG. AS. frick. (it's over 100 pages copied/pasted into Word)

Ouch. I've just been bumping with my material since there hasn't been much else to bump this threas.
As to why there haven't been more updates, authors have plenty of reasons. They may just have run out of material.
Pen Pals was great. Read the Case files. You can take them slow. OP doesn't post them too regularly

This.
I used to love when this thread would get bumped. Now, every time i see it, I assume its Mr.Tide attaching his next story. We get it, you have a lot of stories to tell. We know his stories are fictional and the fun of this is to read it thinking maybe it could be true (even though some are very farfetched). But thats the fun of it.
The last half of this page has gotten back on track so here's to hoping it stays that way and this thread can live on the way it was intended…to pop up on the first page at 2:00 AM just begging to be read and you trying to convince yourself not to.
