I just remembered this beer exists. I guess it's early 2000s popularity has worn off right? Any Abita drinkers I see usually have Amber, Strawberry or Purple Haze in their hands.
Anyone else still keep this in the fridge or drink it on the reg?

I don't really keep it around, but I think it's the best beer in Abita's regular line up

Wouldn't drink it on a regular basis but Turbo mixed with purple isn't bad for 1 beer and a change of pace.

I've been known to grab it if ordering bottles at a bar. Not regularly but once in awhile. Prefer it to amber.

I'll drink it on occasion; sometimes it's the most interesting beer on a restaurant's menu.

i've noticed when non-Louisiana folks are talking to me about beer, and bring up Abita, they almost always praise Turbodog over the others. Of their year-round lineup, I do think it is the most interesting beer.

I don't see why. I don't think turbodog is very good. I do like Andygator though. Might be my favorite Abita brew

Turbodog is Abita's best standard beer, as others have said. Last time I had it, I guess it was maybe about 2-3 years ago. There are just better examples in that style made by other breweries

AGator is the best beer by any LA brewer

I enjoy it, but I think it's on Ed the best beers to cook with. Especially slow cool roasts and chilies

Makes some good black bean soup! Also, really like it when I do a chilli. Been a while since i drank it, but i don't mind it at all... Andy gator wasn't too bad when it first came out, but now I stay away.... don't like the taste anymore. Over here in MS with the new law you would swear andygator is the best beer ever made. Always trying to get me to buy it at Bay Tobacco...

The first time was the last time. Didn't care for it. Probably around early 2000s for me also

ETA: thats a bit of a stretch but to each his own. I think there are several beers ahead of it by other state breweries.

Did it come out in the early 2000's? I never understood why Abita didn't get into the Ice beer craze in the mid 90's
