Will take over the former Huey's Diner space by Dorignac's.

Tried this place in Covington for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was awful.
Was with a large party of 15 or so and everyone got pizzas. No came close to eating all their pizza. The quality of the toppings and the sauce were not good. And it's freaking pizza.... Hard to complain about pizza. Some are better than others, but this was just not good.

Damn. I read about this place the other day. I didn't realize it was a chain, I guess the name is a pretty solid indication. That is disappointing.

Well that sucks to hear.
This location is extremely expensive from what I understand, so they better have their shite together or it will be a short stay.
Lots of competition from Causeway down toward their location with Mellow Mushroom, Tower of Pizza, Reginellies, Pizza Shop, and I guess you can throw in Mark Twains.

That sucks, we could really use a pizza place.

I don't think it is. 3 lawyers opened it and own it, including former Sheriff Charles Foti.

I believe a similarly trained group invented pizza.
I'm glad it's not a chain, at least they will have some flexibility.
Doesn't sound like they are off to a great start.

It is worth anyone's time to drive to Midway.

I do like that Italian Street Food place in Metairie that just opened. My friend built it.

Just drive to Freret and go to Ancora.

Went about 3 months ago and wasn't crazy about it. Its the eye talian version of izzo's and I frick hate izzo's. Nice people, I just haven't had the urge the go back.

I was joking.notiger mentioned there are a ton of pizza places in that area. He even left many out ie Rotolo's.

For a chain, I was suprised at the local flare that the Mellow Mushroom on Veterans had. They went all in with the N.O. and La atmosphere. Also had some pretty good local beer on tap and the bartender told me some of the food items were just put in for that location.
I didn't try the pizza though, so hopefully it's not garbage.

I went once for lunch during March Madness. Sat at the bar had two slices for like $7. Not great pizza but not bad either. Nice bartenders.

Brooklyn is still my favorite, I just hate that I gotta use a paper plate and plastic utensils.

Not a fan of MM. Crust is chewy verging on hard, rather than crisp, and the crust is also greasy as hell. If it was decent, there would be no need to bathe it in whatever buttery, oily mess they swab onto the edges. Beer selection is nice, though.
As for Metairie pie, Brooklyn is it. Trailing a very far distant second (and in a different style) is Reginelli's.

???
Best in Metairie is Tower by a mile!
MM is fine but it's not my favorite.
I went to Midway for the 2nd time a few weeks ago. Previous trips were meh. This time it was fantastic. Ordered the pizza with the "green cheese" and it delivered. I think I posted the pic.
