I used to have anger issues while fishing, and i had a very severe blow up on a buddy of mine about 5 years ago. He helped cause me to lose the biggest bass i have ever had on my line.In my life.

The anger had been swelling inside me all throughout the day. We had horrible luck. Losing fish right at the boat, trolling motor issues, outboard issues,
buddy snared me in the neck with a model A crankbait...

etc..

Long story short we had actually scrummed up a decent stringer. We needed one more kicker fish.

I hooked a monster fish, and was playin the fish the way you are supposed to..
The whole time i am yelling at my partner
get the fricking net!!! get the damn net!!!

Well the fish made a couple runs stripping line, and of course i am not paying attention to anything but the fish.
He finally got to a point where i wanted him to be netted.
I look down and see him finishing up a text message. I yelled at him.
get the phuk off the phone!!!

He jumped down to grab the net, and much to my chagrin there was 52 crankbaits, and 19 rods tangled up in the net.

You know what happens next... I lost that bass.
At least 8.5 lber.

Cost me big bass and 1st place checks.

I went apeshit guys...

I got in his face yelling at him. I told him to stay off the fricking phone etc...

He bristled up to me and told me that his gf had a flat tire and she was more important than a fish.

This made me see red. I grabbed his phone and threw it a 1/4 mile into the lake. In the process of cussing screaming and stomping on 3 of my fishing poles, i called his gf
a SUBHUMAN WHALE BITCH

I broke 2 allstar rods, and 1 falcon rod.
I drowned his motorola razor.

Me and this guy are still best friends. I bought him a new phone...

I have never let myself get anywhere close to that upset again.

Still feel bad man.

i have a couple more of ths thread gets any traction

I didn't do this but I know the guy who did:

Two of my buddies are hunting in a duck blind with a guest who thinks he can call ducks real well. The guest just came with his dad who is hunting with the other dads in a different blind, so my buddies don't really know the guy. Both of the other guys are pretty damn good at calling, and have been duck hunting since birth pretty much.

All day just when ducks are coming in the guest would start blaring, and the ducks would flair off. So one of my buddies tell him to stop calling. Next group of birds comes, and the guest calls anyway and flairs them. He does this about two more times, being told to stop calling each time. Finally as the guest goes to blow his call again, one of my buddies grabs the call out of his hands and throws as far as he can into the flooded rice fields!

Wife and kids on my boat on Mothers day.
Hooked a trout on causeway for my daughter on her cheap little bass pro rod & reel combo fo rher and let her reel it it.
Fish comes to the top(about a #2 trout) and she stops reeling, hands the rod to me and says"dad,i can't reel no more" trout spits bait well the bait is just sitting in the water when a large shadow appears from under my boat and grabs the bait. I follow it all the way till rod tip hits the water and set the hook.

Fight big trout for about 10 minutes(pole was strung with new power pro)fish makes about 5 big aerial leaps.
Tire fish out,get her to side of boat and I'm telling my wife to hand me the net.Tell her I got it,give me the net.

All of a sudden I see a net come flying out of the corner of my eye and hit the fish on the head, knocking it loose and it slowly swims away.

All I saw was red.Just sat down and said nothing(it was mothers day and I had my kids on the boat).

Shoulda threw the bitch overboard,honestly.
I have 2 stick on measuring tapes on both gunnels of my boat. They both measure 32". Fish was longer than the tape.

Damn dude. I would have netted your fish first, but if I'd been your buddy I'd have rearranged some of your teeth for that shite.

Around 1997 I was goose huntin on my lease btwn welsh and thornwell. It was jan 2nd and perfect conditions. We had been getting a 4 man limit everyday for the past week. I was 16 and very hot headed.

Anyway the farmer lived a mile away but there was a trailer about 400 yrds from the blind and the dumbasses that moved there knew there were blinds all around. About 7 am I get my first pair decoying in. Weather was perfect and they were comin in perfect. Gonna be a good day. Then that a-hole shots a bottle rocket off. Wind was blowin at our back from his house. Geese headin towards us both. Geese flare I'm pissed whatever. 15 min later I got a dozen speck flipping in and that f@cker lights a thousand blackcats and runs inside. Never been so mad in my life. Peppered his house and truck. Yelled numerous vulgar things and of course cops showed up. I got out of it but lost the lease. Dad was laughing and pissed. Got a better lease the next year.

Hate typin on an iPad.

Was fishing on a pier under the lights. My buddy passed out on the pier and I hooked probably a 5# speck. I'm yelling at him to wake up to get the net(3am by this point)

I finally get it close and he scoops with the net three times and misses. He was trashed. I get it back close enough to net and he misses again. Fish threw the hook and swam off slowly all the way out of the lights. I punched him so hard in the back that he fell off the pier into the water

Would have been my best speck

i got some angry ones and some just plain stupidity

duck hunting in the wax this past season my buddy and i anchored the boat and started walking to what we thought was our blind, we walked to the wrong one (bc he kept saying it was this way), once we realized we were at the wrong blind we tried to walk to ours only to find other ppl in it which we couldnt do anything about, they shot a limit and we shot 3, i cussed him pretty bad and we almost went to blows and didn't talk the entire hunt, wasn't till we were halfway home that we squashed it

was fishing a bass tournament a couple years ago and i was in some very shallow shite moving into a cut the wind was also blowing me into and im messing with the trolling motor with my line still in the water, so i drop the rod and hit the tm and the line gets caught up in the prop...it flings my rod along with 2 other ones into the water breaking all 3, kinda yelled at my partner to help

heading to cocodrie with a buddy i put my rods in the back of his truck, we stop by his house and he puts a battery against the back cab which slid and broke my rods, he ended up buying me some new ones

took my dads anchor out of his boat when i was younger and used it in my flat in lake p, took off with the anchor down and broke it off, he was looking for it about a year later and i let him look all over the garage for it to no avail, still haven't told him about that one

Was taking a short cut through some light brush to go bream fishing in a big private pond in Pike County, Alabama. Was carrying a 16 foot cane pole, small tackle box, and a sack of tawby worms. Got some brush limbs and branches tangled up in the cane pole fishin line and I got mad tryin to get it untangled whilst carryin all that stuff. There was this old rusty JFG coffee can layin on the ground and I was still ticked off so I up and give that JFG can a good kick. It bounced a couple of times and a whole herd of them red Japanese wasps flew out of that can and lit me up in that brush while my cane pole was still tangled up.

I understand the magnitude of losing money over someones incompetence, but at what point did your anger make everything about you? Losing a fish is never very fun but remember why you are out there, your out there to fish, have fun, be with friends/family. I'm not really trying to criticize but your story makes me think your a pretty selfish and self absorbed person.

I've seen family lose much larger fish for what would be more money and never get angry like that.

While pond fishing I kept my crick-hopper caught in the weeds, so I got frustrated started whipping that crick-hopper back and forth until I went a little too far. Hooked myself directly in the center of my back. Had to climb through 2 barbed wire fences, trying not to get hung up. My dad got the pliers and ripped it out.

My sister tries to claim I hooked her on purpose once because she was catching fish...not true on both accounts. I did however intentionally line up a card board box to shoot with my bb gun that was located right in front of her.

Can't say I have any "pissed off" stories. Far too often I'm asleep while supposedly hunting / fishing.

I rubbed a 150# tuna with the backside of a gaff after about an hour battle. Gentlemen reeling the fish in was not happy when he stripped another 500 yards of line off the reel. I thought it was humorous, but I was also pretty tipsy at that point.

FTR: We already had more fish in the boat than we knew what to do with, and we eventually did land aforementioned fish.
