Rucker was just too soon on covering a cover. OCMS needs to cover a Hootie song.

Hoo-tie!

I like both versions. The one thing that struck me while hearing Rucker's version is that it 'sounds like country' as opposed to the popular country crap right now. Compared to Florida-Georgia Line and the Luke Bryans of the world, it sounds kick arse.

it's not like the versions are THAT different... i dont like either artist, so I dont feel biased...

If one didnt have darius rucker's name attached to it, it wouldnt be a big deal...

OCMS should cover a hootie and the blowfish song. Would be hilarious.

OCMS is okay, and Wagon Wheel is a solid song besides its obscene overexposure.

Darius Rucker's version is pretty shitty. It almost sounds like hos voice is auto-tuned during some parts of the song. Weird.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — "Darius Rucker is a fan of Old Crow Medicine Show but says he didn’t really get what was so infectious about the string band’s signature hit “Wagon Wheel” at first."

This was the first paragraph in an article in The Seattle Times today. I thought it was a good read, and I really hope to be in Ketch Secor's shoes sone day.

Good link. Turns out, per this read, that Dylan did not write 'Wagon Wheel.' Also turns out that OCMS is pretty happy he recorded it.

Seeing Rucker tomorrow night, so I'll be hearing 'Family Tradition', 'Purple Rain', 'Wagon Wheel', couple of Hootie songs and some frat-country.

I wish Darius Rucker would sing a cover of AIC's Down in a Hole. From down in a hole. Like a deep arse hole I could fill with pea gravel. Boom, no more Darius Rucker.
