I have made hamburgers to death. Spaghetti, check, lasagna, check. Fritos pie, check. Mexican style offerings, check.

Give me some new, fresh, hip and happening ideas to do with a pound.

What say the F&DB?

TIA!

Brown a pound of it an drain any excess oil. In the skillet, top the meat with a layer of thin sliced onion rings. Salt and pepper the dish. Add 1 can of cream of mushroom to which you've added a can of water or a can's worth of beef stock. Top with a layer of thin potato slices, no need to peel first. Pepper the potatoes and press into the sauce. Put a lid on it and slow simmer for 30 minutes while your corn bread bakes. Good stuff.

Brown onion, peppers and meat in a skillet.

Spread wop biscuits out on baking sheet and add meat/veggies. Put your favorite cheese on top (pepper jack), and fold wop biscuits over mixture to make a meat pie. Bake to specs.

Serve with cold beer.

Similar to deer tamales - i do deer tacos. May get shot for this, but brown and simmer in some of the Bayless Frontera sauce ... Very east and quick for people who don't have a lot of time

Dice 1 onion and 1 bell pepper and sauté a bit then toss in 1 lb venison. When it is browned toss in red chile and brown a bit longer. The amount of red chile is on you, depending on how hot you want it. Add 1 small can of tomato paste, 1 16. oz can of whole tomatoes, juice from 2 16 oz. cans of red kidney beans, a tablespoon of sugar, teaspoon of salt a bay leaf and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the kidney beans at the end to heat up and serve with Corn Bread.

Might still be cool enough in Georgia for a deer chili.

2 lbs ground deer meat
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
4 cloves garlic
1 can tomato sauce
4 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp oregano
2 Tbsp cumin
1 tsp basil
1 can (16 oz) pinto beans

Brown meat. Add bell pepper and onion and cook until onions are clear. Add the rest of the ingredients and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 45 minutes.
