Yes. I was there a couple of weeks ago. I think they've been open since around Mardi Gras

One of my biggest complaints is a lack of patio/sidewalk drinking spots. There should be several on Magazine and yet there's like 3 total. And I mean bars, not restaurants people drink at.

Tracey's has those couple tables out front and when the weather's nice they'll open the doors .. decent day drinking spot espeically during MLB season so you can watch a game and relax.

I'm with you on this. Thats why Henry's is one of my fav spots. RDV too on Sundays, the 4-8 happy hour special gets me sloppy.

Gonna throw out a new place that's gonna get hate. Dat Dog on magazine is pretty legit IMO.

Totally agree, but given the city and the culture you'd think there'd be more than just a handful of places to really day drink without feeling like a total alchy (aka Brothers III).

I hear you. Maybe has something to do with the sidewalk space? Or that it's tough to get approved to alter property so maybe businesses want to put in a patio/courtyard but can't?

If we ever see Nola go smoke-free in bars I think there will be a rush to offer outdoor seating at bars that don't currently feature it.

Also people forget that Half Moon and Down The Hatch and The Saint all have outdoor seating.

I really don't know. I used to hear the argument that it gets too hot during the summer so people would rather just sit inside. Sounded logical. Then I moved to Houston (which is definitely hotter) and every bar in the fricking city has a patio, so that theory is not valid at all in my mind anymore. It's also kind of sad.

I did forget those for sure. Never been to the Saint before like midnight.

Did you live in Houston when you could smoke in bars?

No, I moved in 2010 and I just figured they'd been like that for awhile. Did they enact that and then that turn into the proliferation of patios a la R2R's theory above?

The Rendezvous Tavern has outside tables. Plus they let you bring crawfish to eat if you want.

Humidity. Dallas is the same way. They have patios all over the place. You don't feel like you're sitting in a sauna when you get out of the sun.

Yeah it was a cluster frick when it happened. The bar owners I know scrambled to build decks and patios. Some places were just fricked.

IDK I always found it pretty grueling sitting outside in the summer when you're in peak hours. Are you going to tell me that you're not sweating sitting on the back patio at Poison Girl or Boheme, even at night, during the summer? I know I sure as frick was, and I'm not a big person. I mean there's a reason they have those giant mister fans everywhere.

Yeah he doesn't. He trains people at my gym. Dude is quick as F. I wouldn't want to get in a fight w/ him.

Oh I was . It does cool off at night though. S. LA summer nights are still brutal most of the time.
I hate those damn misters sometimes too. The dollar store misters some places put up might as well have somebody standing behind you gleeking(haven't used that in a while) on you.
