ebraska 97 would have beaten Michigan, and it would not have been close.

that's just silly. UM had a badass defense that year, it was't just Woodson buddy. IMO it seems like people overrate the 97 NU team due to the dominance displayed by their previous 2 title teams. The 97 team was very good but nowhere near the other squads. I don't think it's crazy to say that NU got that split because it was Osborne's last year coaching.

Sorry, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I guess you're just fricking stupid.
I understand this is a LSU website so I'm not expecting that many people to agree with me but how is it stupid to believe that USC who had arguably one of the best teams in the last 10-15 years can beat the 03 LSU team. I understand they had a very good team that year but I think USC had a better team. It would have been a hell of a game that should have decided the National Championship.

anyone that thinks USC or LSU would've won in a blowout is delusional. Both teams were absolutely loaded and would have been an awesome game to witness. A damn shame we were robbed of it

Colorado 90 was a very good team. Like LSU 07 they showed up hungover or high and had a bad game and lessened their legacy. Plus the 5th down, which no one cared about at the time. They would have curbstomped GT.

USC should not have lost to an unranked team if they were so good.

The Big 10/PAC 10 spoiled 97 for everyone. Would have been a great game.

This.

...and NU had a '91 Colorado play that allowed them to even be in the conversation. Davidson illegally kicking the ball in the air to keep it alive to beat Mizzou in the final seconds.

Head Coach to muck it up for Mizzou! Larry Smith!

Disagree, but I can accept this statement.

This is the statement that garnered my hostile response.

Man I don't know they were pretty good that year. Me and my dad attended the Rose Bowl that year USC vs Michigan decked out in LSU gear. It would have come down to if LSU could bother Leinart as much as they did White. Justin Vincent was a partying mtf that year btw. My brother put him on the phone with me after the SEC Championship game and I asked where they were. He said I don't know haha.

USC lost a 3 OT game in Berkeley against Aaron Rodgers Cal team

Why does that matter? Rodgers barely played in the 2nd half and his last pass was a pick 6. He left tied at 21. Rodgers didn't beat USC. Reggie fricking Robertson beat USC.

you'd be wrong.

-lost to Penn State in the National Title @ the Fiesta Bowl in 1986.

-lost to Notre Dame in South Bend, 1988.

-lost to Florida State in Tallahassee , 1989.

-lost to BYU and Notre Dame on the road in 1990.

- I'm not saying they would have lost to Washington in 1991, I don't know much about Washington.

Miami didn't lose much during that stretch but when they did, it was on the road.

Well no shite Miami won 58 games in a row
