Terrible thing to happen to a great group of kids and a good coach they have up there in Farmerville. Prayers Sent.

Not that this matters, but just curious. Why were they playing football in May?

Spring ball/practice.
Some coaches opt for full contact in Spring and lose a week of 2 a days in the summer.

I can't imagine what that other player that hit him feels like.

A kid that sustained a helmet to helmet hit died as a result of that hit.
That's got to be horrible for all involved, including the other player.

Yeah, I guess. I just thought spring ball would have been a lil earlier.

Why hasn't this been reported in the news yet? I googled this and found something about a different Farmerville player that died back in 2010. Man that's just sad.

High school teams don't want to have spring football without many of the baseball players, whose regular season doesn't end until the end of April.

Yep, and this year they allowed spring ball in January I believe. I know Hahnville was doing spring while soccer was still playing.
