Fire or Not to Fire?

Hypothetical:
Newly hired Employee(2 weeks new) shows up to a job site 1 hour late. Wearing tank top and shorts and flip flops(was provided a uniform). Proceeds to not introduce himself to customer and rudely says I'm here to do "xxx". Finished the job in less than expected timeframe and tries to charge the customer more than what was quoted to them on the phone. Collects money, leaves site, customer calls and is livid.
Do you fire or not fire the employee?

At the least write up, but it sound like he/she had several violations.

Almost a fireable offense by itself. Combined with these two:

He should be gone on those things alone.
But the last item:
quote:
Finished the job in less than expected timeframe and tries to charge the customer more than what was quoted to them on the phone.
Is theft from a customer.
Fire without hesitation.

Ask if he'll give you the number to his weed guy before you fire him.

He doesn't seem fired with enthusiasm. So he should be fired, with enthusiasm!!!

Find his replacement before you fire him.

Dumb if you do not fire. You really want him pissing off more customers? Guarantee the one he already pissed off will never use your business again and will bad mouth it to all their friends.

Tell him to come into the office to meet with you. Make him wait for an hour. Then come out and tell him he's fired.
