Everything I've had there has been outstanding and the prices are very reasonable, so I'm just curious if anyone has left there underwhelmed or disappointed.

Another thread asked what our current favorite eateries in BR are, and this was easily #1 for me right now. No, I don't work there...yes, I sound like I'm pimping this place but that's because I think it's absolutely delicious.

Discuss...

Only once did I get takeout from there and it was subpar. Went back about a week later and the buffet was some of the best Indian I'd ever had.

I spoke with the owner and he's a real friendly guy. He'd mentioned they'd hired a new chef who cooked Indian food his own way, and it would be different from the previous chef. At the time they were redoing the menu.

I went back some time after that and the food was just as good.

So besides one sub par take out experience, it's converted me from Bay Leaf

I dont like that they went 100% buffet but only bc I couldn't order from the menu anymore. The naan, especially the cheese filled is unreal.
Big thumbs up from me!

I don't mind pimping a place that deserves it, or trashing a place that isn't trying, CNK is trying hard, the food proves it. I'd like to see them spruce up the dining area a bit, my wife thought it was depressing, I was blinded by the seasoning.

I'll be back, the naan is amazing.

Pretty soon the board will say it is overrated like every other restaurant in town.

They converted lunch and dinner, took lobster off. Last time I was there To go's came off the buffet.I asked him I wish he would change it back. It's been maybe a week and a half or two? Maybe he has?
They might still offer a menu but it has been greatly reduced, food cost was killing them. I know lobster and some of the high end items are 86.

Hmmm...didn't know it was all buffet. Even for dinner? I've always gotten the buffet at lunch, but ordered off the menu for dinner. It's been a while though since the last time I ate dinner there.

Bay Leaf was my favorite restaurant before C&K opened. From what I'd heard, the owner was a former cook at Bay Leaf and all their food is very similar and much cheaper.

Because Bay Leaf is in a huge building and they try to do the white table cloth/waiters in tuxedos bit, we pay a lot more for similar food than at C&K

Yeah. I don't want a buffet at dinner and my wife wouldn't be a fan either.

Do they anticipate getting a liquor license?

I've posted this before, but I've had one subpar experience, one decent experience and one very good. Never as good as bay leaf though. The tandoori chicken has been very dry 2 out of 3 times I've gone, but I'll be going there the next time I get Indian. How do you get the cheese naan?

4 that I can name off the top of my head. 3 of them are within a half mile of each other, Curry & Kabob, Bay Leaf and Himalayas'.
India's is the 4th.
