I'm an old fart, so I grew up with CC, but HK just blows the out of the water.
I watched (or tried to watch) a CC movie recently. I didn't realize how bad they really were.

I love Harold and Kumar but they haven't done anything that can match Up In Smoke

Haven't watched H&K. But Up in Smoke is one of my favorite comedies of all time. C&C were in their prime almost 30 years ago and we still talk about them now. Do you think H&K will be talked about 30 years from now?

YEP. I'm 46 and was weened on Cheech and Chong but give me any of the H&K movies over Up in Smoke.

Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke is a thousand times better than any Harold & Kumar movie.
However, every other Cheech & Chong movie was absolutely awful.

If you were really old you'd know Cheech & Chong's best work was done on vinyl not celluloid.

The interplay between Cheech and Chong is real professional comedy and better than anything Harold & Kumar could ever muster...can you imagine those two guys on a live stage together trying to put on a comedy show w/o movie props?
But I agree on some of their movies...a lot of C&C movies were mailed in and seemed like they made them up as they went along - stream of consciousness. But hey, they were a live act.
White Castle is better than some garbage C&C movies but can never touch the actual comedy of Up in Smoke.

I had a friend that ran into Tom Skerrit a number of years back and walked up to him and said, "oh, uhh I wasn't lookin at your neck man"...Skerrit looked at him funny for a minute, and bust out laughing and bought him a beer.

And, in their vinyl heyday, they were up there with Richard Pryor as the top comedy acts of the day. Half of the kids in any junior high class could recite one of their bits for you, or sing you a rendition of Basketball Jones.
