He hasn't had a chance and hell be playing with talent. theres a reason he was such a highly regarded prospect. How long have we been waiting for junya to capitalize on his talent? Tez is intriguing and full of promise so that makes it a decent bet. Victor butler, well good luck with that.

Hmmm, maybe that front 7 myth isn't as true as everyone makes it out to be.

then explain why the market assigns a much higher value to these guys (especially pass rushers)

quote:

Think of the Ravens in recent years. Once their secondary started to deteriorate their defense started slipping and they had great pass rushers.

this is just wrong. ignoring their investment in the secondary, kruger/suggs make that D go. there is a reason their D improved and they got hot once suggs came back

quote:

The Steelers are a completely different team without Polamalu, and they have great pass rushers.

they were a top D last year when polamalu sucked/didn't do shite

quote:

Maybe secondary players can make a huge difference in this league.

they can, but safeties are abundant and don't have a lot of value accordingly

pass rushers are more important and rare, which is why they cost so damn much

So much ignorance in this post. Both junior and Butler were about as productive as they could possibly be in the time alloted. Maybe Dallas shouldve benched Ware to give him some more reps. Junior is being put into a system that should allow him to further improve and play to his strengths. But I sometimes forget that this benefit only applies to Draft picks that Mel Kiper tells us will benefit from the change... Not young players already having some NFL experience/success.

I''ll just say that if you check my posts before the draft you'll see I was firmly against taking an OLB. LT was obviously the way to go but we had no shot at that so my backups were S, CB, and WR(pretty much in that order). We basically got two for one deal in Vaccaro.

I was pumped about the pick once I watched some highlights and read some writeups (catiously optimistic before that).

I'm one of the few that's been saying we have NFL ready guys (one that's played a good number of snaps as a 3-4 OLB) that are fast and have shown they can rush.

Galette and Wilson's issue was they were undersized DEs and a liability against the run on an already poor run d. That's why they didn't get more chances. They were money rushing last year though. I think Galette was tied for second in sacks(iirc) despite playing about 25% of the snaps.

Nobody knows if Jones will even make the transition yet.

the staff/FO better be right about tez/junior or our D could be worse than last year

a 3-4 without elite pass rushers will be terrible unless you have bill B running them

It is admittedly a big gamble. But they have had some success. Ryan has seen top olb close up. I trust his judgements.

That just goes to show you how sad our D really is. You already have 2 UDFAs penciled as starters.

The really sad thing is you're most probably right!!!

lol. He's said that at the very least, NO was guilty of not trying to clean up it's act. That's a fact. Now whether or not bounty gate happened, that's debatable but I digress.
People aren't out to "Get the Saints". Trust me, no one cares that much.

Yes I do.

You should go be an NFL manager somewhere with all this knowledge you have.

I'm praying as well man. I'm just hoping it was the case that they saw enough potential out of Butler, Galette, and Wilson to feel that they didn't need to grab Jarvis Jones. If that's they case, they might make all feel silly...which I hope.

Tons of people on the board who think they know more than coaches when in reality they know bullshite. I wouldn't have minded jj at all but I also realize we had safety needs too. Some people think their pick is the absolute only one the nfl coaches should have picked. I never said this and used to not agree with it but there's a reason a lot of the good posters who used to make this board great don't post much or at all anymore.

I'm sorry you can't understand that the poor drafting on defense is why we were historically bad last season. I'm also sorry you're too fricking stupid to understand value. The coaches are not all knowing. SP and ML frick up all the time. Hey, just like people.

well I don't usually address these posts but I've been on ST longer than you, and it was an absolute dumpster fire in early 08 and early 09. Whatever former glory you are referring to, you were never apart of it. So go play with your adorable figurines that you admitted to owning and get fricked.

Umm you certainly have not been longer than me. You are an absolute joke, rain man. And what figurines are you even talking about? I really have no clue.

And I certainly do remember when there were many more quality posters than your silly arse. People that actually knew what they were talking about instead of acting all knowing.
