Do you get nervous when your waiter/waitress does not write your order down?

I feel like 90% of the time I get the wrong order, or something not to my specifications at a restaurant, is when they do not write the order.
IMO, there is no shame in writing it down. I've worked in food, and I know that one's short-term memory can turn to mush after hearing order after order for hours.

Yes. In fact, when they don't write it down, I assume it will come out wrong.

Unless its a big group or a complex order.... Not particularly.

I find that there are more mistakes from waitpeople when they write it down.

For me no, for my wife yes. She is one of those people who never order anything without asking them to make a few changes.

Was out to dinner in Vegas with a group of 13 a few weeks ago. The waitress didn't write anything down (she took drink and food orders at the same time) and everything came out perfect and was delivered to the right person. Needless to say, I was highly impressed.

Depends on the restaurant really.
Some (usually nicer) restaurants actually don't allow waiters to write it down.

Not really. I have noticed no difference in accuracy between those writing it down and those who do not. Strange, but true.

That is amazing. I've had similar experiences, but none on that scale.

Quit eating at Applebee's. The good ones don't...

12top with drinks, apps, soups and salads with temps and changes, didn't carry a pad...back in the day.
Can't remember what I ordered these days...

No.
If he/she gets it wrong, then it's a potential learning moment for them. Maybe they'll right it down next time.
They get it right, it's impressive, especially if you ask for certain things to not be included, onions, no salad, gravy on the side, etc....
I'd leave a good tip for that.

Always funny to deliver to the food to an elderly person and they're like "Oh yeah, is that what I ordered?"
