You guys have any good tutorials or guides for OCing? I have a 4670k that I want to overclock
Follow these simple steps.
1. Buy a vice
2. Buy a hammer.
3. Find a short 2X4
4. Place 4670k in vice with the IHS facing down.
5. Now place the piece of wood against the edge of the 4670k's PCB.
6. Strike the wood with the hammer using aggressive, but not too aggressive, force.
7. Now the IHS has separated from the PCB.
Now you can start overclocking.

I doubt you'll be able to push it high at all with that cooler. Haswells run hot

You'll get 4.0ghz, maybe 4.1. Don't mess with your voltage.

google your motherboard and 4670k overclocking and you should find some decent guides.
I would imagine all the asrock extreme z87 uefis are the same or extremely similar

Alright, I wish I had known that the fans would have been this damn loud, but I can't take it anymore. I need a quieter Mid-case. Please give me some suggestions.

what case and fans are you using currently?
Posted on 4/14/14 at 6:31 pm to USAF Hart
I use some silenx 120mm fans. They don't push much air, but they're extremely quiet.
here they are. I have 3 of them

Actually, now that i've taken a look at it, it's the fan that is cooling off the cpu. The thing is obnoxiously loud. I doubt there is anything I can do to get it quieter. The case I have is this one:

You have the Thermaltake V3 Black Edition, right?
I don't think it's the case fans you have to worry about. There's no way they are louder than that stock CPU fan and your video card fans. I think the majority of your noise is coming from the CPU fan. I bet it ramps up like mad when you are streaming.
Edit: just saw your reply above.

Yea, is there anyway at all to quiet the CPU fan? It's absolutely horrible...
Posted on 4/14/14 at 7:05 pm to USAF Hart
Stock cooler? They're loud as frick. Get a hyper 212 or something. They're cheap and good.

hyper 212 for the CPU fan? Would that fit?
Posted on 4/14/14 at 7:35 pm to USAF Hart
Well, it's a heat sink that comes with a fan. lol yes, it will fit.
I'm currently using one.
