Apparently my training has been working because I knocked off almost 5.5 minutes while weaving through people the whole time.

Um you don't time yourself when you train?

Most people know if they can run an 8-minute mile.

I wonder if the 70 year old couple wearing jeans in our group thought this.

re: Crescent City Classic thread
I honestly don't time myself. I have a watch that would time my total run, not lap times, but the battery is dead, and I haven't used it since high school.

My only timed runs are from races that have chip times.

I just pop in headphones and run as fast as I can around the LSU lakes and different routes around campus. I'm more about just staying healthy. Running a decent time is just a bonus.

Edit for typo...

Wanted to run sub 40 but had some IT band issues the week before and didn't run much. Still finished in 41:56 and that's was enough for my 7th top 500 poster in a row!

Wow! Congrats!

Seriously, that's really awesome. This year was my first CCC10k and second 10k ever. People like you definitely encourage me to keep with it and get better.

Is there a good watch you can recommend? I'd love to get one. I just need to save up the money for a good one.

ETA: the 99 year old woman named Ruth Davis who finished in 01:13:24 or something also encourages me. She's obviously amazing to run that quickly at her age.

That's damn good.

I missed the race for the first time in 15 years.
Bronchitis.

I'm really bummed about it, but will hopefully start a new streak next year.

I got my goal of under 50. I plan on getting really drunk next year.

Didn't break 50 minutes like I wanted to. Ran it in little over 51 minutes. I drank my share of beer though.

I set a PR in mediocrity. Damn near an hour slower than last year.

I concur.

I knocked 10 min off my time from last year. Down to 48 min.

48:30something.

I own a Garmin Forerunner 310xt and recommend it highly. Heart rate monitor is optional and not necessary if you aren't tracking this sort of thing. A little pricey but worth it.

I love the Garmin Connect web feature. Overlays the GPS on a map. Really nice in tracking device.

And Marathonfoto posted pics.

Unless your bib is clear in the picture, you'll have to search the untagged photos. There were 60 pages of untagged photos from 2012 and I found myself on page 54.

This year I received an e-mail with a link to three of my photos. Not sure how I signed up for that notification.

Also, in the virtual goodie bag, there is a code for $10 off the registration for the 2014 classic. Expires 04/07/2013.

No one got a poster Saturday, they are all sent through the mail. Usually comes in June/July, from my experience.

I'm really short and my bib was blocked by tall people :(

They also put someone who wasn't me in my folder. I just said it wasn't me, so hopefully that person finds her picture.

I found one of me, though, so yay! Guy is blocking most of the picture, but it's there.
