I just got married and bought a house and want to use a CPA this year to file our tax returns to maximize our returns. Does anybody have any good recommendations in Baton Rouge? Also do you know the costs associated with them?

If that's all you did in 2012 and you can't deduct more than $11,900 I'd just file with Turbo Tax or Tax Act

Johnston & Hayden on Coursey are very good...give them a call.

I think so. Maybe he will be along soon to post his email. He is one of the best posters on this site. Period. He helped me this year and gave sound advice in what to look for when I was searching for a CPA.

Al Dias on Old Hammond in Baton Rouge...good guy, about $200 or so. Always told him to just barely keep me out of prison...

You file your returns. You are trying to maximize your refund.

I suggest you try turbo tax ($40 for delux version at Sam's) before paying a CPA. From what you mentioned it would be very simple.
