will smith is 32 at the start of the season and has been on the decline since superbowl year.

cameron jordan is 24 at the start of the season.

I'm gonna go with the 24 year old has better "physical tools" for his weight. Compare someone like vilma to willis, vilma is 3 years older, benched 1 more BP during the combine. I guarantee vilma isn't stronger now.

Vilma can only be stronger now, according to Lester.

I don't want him to start either. I just disagree with the notion that he can't play in a 3-4. Mainly I just want the team to do what's best for the cap. If that's cutting him, fine. If that's keeping him, I'm also fine with that.

I'm sure he can provide depth. I honestly don't like how people are coming in and saying he's perfect for the job because he isn't, he'll be average at best. The issue is, he's going to take away reps from someone who MIGHT be great all because of seniority and a fatter check. sedrick ellis last year was a clear example.

Most of the strongest guys in the league are fat offensive guards and fat defensive tackles. Gaining weight, even if it is fat, doesn't mean he hasn't still been lifting weights and staying strong.

I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about Smith.

We can debate all day whether he is strong enough and those kinds of things. My biggest problem is that many people apparently think he just isn't big enough. I know you aren't saying that. That is complete crap in my opinion. He is probably the same size as the average 3-4 DE.

I never said he wasn't big enough. I don't think he's strong enough.

Wasn't your point that because he is fat now he hasn't been staying strong or working out?

That's why I said we could argue the strength point all day and that I know you didn't say he wasn't big enough.

No. Him being fat is just a symptom of his declining physical abilities.

Well Lester googled player weights and tossed it in our face like it was some indisputable gotcha moment. He also said Smith was the perfect 3-4 DE and then accused us of making shite up.

I disagree. Should I meet you at the same place you wanted that other guy to meet you so we can fight?

I think Lester was arguing the same point about people saying Smith wasn't big enough. That's why he listed some player weights.

He was responding to Chad who said Smith wasn't tall or stout enough. In all fairness Chad says a lot of things and no one takes him seriously.

Then he goes off listing the closest comparisons most of which were minimum 13-18lbs plus more in weight.

Then the argument goes to will's true weight, and evidently will smith is the only NFL player that has his rookie weight listed.

I've said will could play the position but I don't think he'd be very effective. People keep callin him big and at best you can call him near below average for bookend, that's your very best adjective.

He's not ideal at all. He doesn't play with strength anymore.

just because you gain weight, doesnt mean you lose strength. That is probably the last thing to go.

No doubt he has lost some speed.

The fact is, you have no idea if Jordan is stronger than Smith. How do you know? because he had more sacks? Because he is younger? Are you going to sit here and claim that you watch them 1 on 1 every play?

The facts are in. Will Smith benched 5 more reps than Jordan did. Even if you want to claim Smith has lost some strength, he's probably just as strong as Jordan is. He's a grown arse man

His body type is pretty much the prototypical size of most 3-4 DEs. See: all the players I listed.

talk about taking out of context.

He won't stay here for a hometown discount to ride the pine and play 50% or less of the defensive snaps.

1 rep is inconclusive

30reps, compared to 25, is not.
