Roseate Spoonbill. It is. First time I saw them I was duck hunting in high school and thought the flock flying over me were flamingos. Yep. Flamingos.

I had 4 of them in the ditch in front of my island store this morning. When they're eating good, they're the color of flamingos when they're pink. I think it's the same nutritional ingredient that turns them the same color.

But that's more of a crock-pot thing than egret, isn't it? Egret should be on the BGE.

try simmering some red-cockaded woodpecker in baby seal fat before hand. i find that it reduces the gamey-ness.

Sho nuff.

I used to insist they were "flamingos" before I learned that flamingos are a totally different bird (about 15 years ago).

Guess I must have sounded like a dumbass to folks who knew better.
