Kid is a natural born playmaker. Will look for him to have a greater impact as a atarter. He has already had a great performance already. Future 1-2nd rounder

Way to early too say he is better than Reid. Don't forget Reid was a 2 time All American

Sometimes when guys leave the guy behind him is often considered better because he has had time to mature, and can now focus on being the guy. We often call this addition by subtraction.

Maybe Martin has a higher ceiling than Reid, but I highly doubt he will come in and play better.

Not 2011 Reid I think he will definitely have the potential be better than 2012 Reid.

Ronald Martin is a better coverage safety. I have been really impressed with his play. The OP is not as crazy as y'all are making him out to be.

wouldnt be hard - think Reid was way overrated. Slow, out of position alot and killed us a few times taking bad angles.

Reid was a good player for us but he was out of position a lot and seemed a half step behind at times

Reid in 2011 was great. Reid is 2012 was more of a liability than Hatcher was some games.

Yes, Reid had a down year this past season. Still a 2x All American and last year had better #s than last years #1 FS and top 10 pick Mark Barron had his final year at Alabama.

Martin is a better gifted athlete than Reid. No doubt about it. Dude was on LSUs basketball team freshman year. But, where Reid excelled was his football IQ. He was the 1 making all the checks, he was the QB of the D last year. This is where I'm worried with Martin.

I'm very very excited about Martin and see him having a break out year, but to say he's better than Reid right now before he even becomes a full time starter is premature. Can he be better? Sure. Is he better right now? Doubt it. If Chief can coach him up and get him to know the D as good as Reid did he has all the tools to be better than Reid. But, Reid was 1 of the smartest football players LSU has had in a while.
