Has Brennan's Brunch gone down hill?

I'll be in NOLA in a few weeks and wanted to take my dad to Brennan's but I've heard from a few people that is has gone downhill the past couple of years. Is this true?
If so, what do you recommend? We'll be staying at the Roosevelt so something in walking distance. TIA!

Brennans hasn't been all that great in a long time and their brunch might be the biggest rip-off in the restaurant business.
Look at Arnauds or Muriels.
For something cheaper, but very good try Stanley.

Eat at the hotel, a damn fine restaurant.

Never been but looking at the prices it is extremely overpriced.

I recommend considering Arnaud's for Sunday Brunch. You will get your money's worth. The food is good, the atmosphere is festive and it's my favorite for the true New Orleans Jazz Brunch. You can't beat the look of this old New Orleans restaurant to get the full treatment.
Second, in the FQ, I'd do Muriel's, though I find Arnaud's to be miles better. Muriel's is still very good.
I would not consider Brennan's.

I have always enjoyed brunch at Brennan's, but it's just too damn expensive, IMO. The past few times I've gone it's been for dinner, because I love their Filet Stanley and the Crepes Fitzgerald.

Report back. I hope you and your Dad enjoy it.

You'll enjoy Arnaud's. The band is great. The atmosphere is great.
I thought the appetizers and dessert were wonderful but my main course was just kind of ok. Don't get a bloody mary. One of the worst I've ever had. The other cocktails were tasty though. My other complaint was there is just too much stuff on the table. Get's crowded.

What was your main course, Wink? I've gotten either amandine or meuniere the last several times and it's always been good. I LOVE the oysters Arnaud for an app.

I had the Eggs Adrienne. I feel like I should have known that the Creole Sauce was a red sauce, which I'm not a big fan of with eggs. Could just be a personal preference thing.
The coffee was very good too.

I agree with you on the sauce. Not a big fan of red sauces on eggs. I should try something different, but I like the old standards there. They're always good.

One vote for the Rib Room in the Omni. We find it more forward thinking, food wise, than Arnaud's - in a post Katrina way. The room is amazing, the band is usually as well.
Maybe not as festive as Arnaud's, but that could have just been the film crew (assuming) that had a large portion of the place.
Prime rib for brunch is killer. Check out this menu...I think those prices are for an App, a Main and unlimited Mimosas.

ETA: The Croque Royal (Prime Rib Debris, Goat Cheese Becahmel and a Pan Fried Egg) has my stomach growling.

I've been to brunch at brennans. It's in my top 3 worst meals/dining experiences. Such a rip off. If you're looking for fancy brunch then arnaud's or blue room. Something more affordable try Stanley. Buffa's on esplanade has live jazz on Sundays. If you want to venture out of the quarter, start the morning with a few pints at Erin Rose on conti, take the canal streetcar to mid city and have brunch at katie's.

Patois brunch gets my vote.
Except that he wants something within walking distance to the Roosevelt Hotel.
I enjoy Luke for brunch, but it's not a festive New Orleans Jazz Brunch if that's the goal. I usually eat that on Saturdays.
