I just bought a Fractal Design Define R4 Arctic White case with the window. I'm going to put the 2600K and 6950s in it. I'll probably WC it at some point. I think I have more fun building these things than I do using them.

I'm the same way. I love doing builds.

I've put together an A10 HTPC build and a separate 650Ti/8350 build already this year. Then have something planned for the Titans and a small form factor 4770K Maxwell for the GF.

Was putting together a 7970/3570K build tonight on newegg. Want something to game on while my main rig is out of commission when transferring to the SM5. Once I put that 690 under water, gunning for the top benchmark again! lol

I have the 1GB EVGA, OC's really well. Just only played D3 on it actually. Never through a "real game" at it.

I really want to get me a 7970 and put it under water. The only 7970 I would buy would be a MSI Lighting though and having trouble finding them right now.

If you're going to WC and OC, why not grab a reference instead? Do they make full cover blocks dor the lightning?

How do you all keep dual OC GPU cards cool? I don't see how you can put them under water given the spacing on the mobo, I have not done much research but I am planning on doing dual 7950's.

look at the air cooler on your gpu. The fins are like an inch tall off of the card, not to mention the fans. If you take that off you basically have the chipset and mosfets sticking off the pcb. The WC blocks aren't as thick as the heatsink fins and fans.

Gotcha, thanks. I really want to do a new build but can't justify it. This summer I will do it.

They are a lot smaller when you're watercooling since it doesn't have those big coolers and I'm pretty sure the x79 board are bigger than z77.

If your cards are 2 slot then they'll fit fine, but they will run hotter on air since once card won't get sufficient air. You should still be able to OC both just fine though

Yeah, full cover blocks are very thin, and they each have 2 inlets and 2 outlets which helps accommodate spacing issues depending on whether you go with barbs or compression fittings. With dual cards, you could go with parallel cooling in your loop. It would look like this (referring to the cards only, not the reservoir and other stuff):

You need a good pump to maintain flow in the rest of the loop, as the water will take the path of least resistance first. Still debate over series vs. parallel. But the second card in a series will tend to run hotter by about 3 degrees, sometimes higher depending on the rest of your setup.

Are you running a D5?

I just purchased 2 of them. Will be putting in the SM5.

Yeah the 650Ti is in my GF's computer. I love the little 650Ti. Card perfroms quite well in 2560x1440. No high textures because it doesn't have enough VRAM but it can push some frames. Like I said, only played D3 on it though. Her PC is just a web browser/Light Room/Photo Shop build. Not a gaming build since she isn't a gamer, she actually hates video games and nerd culture. We are truly opposites.

i dont have a monitor to try anything in 1440 but i wish i could try. if i got something like a 670 would it be worth it to run the 650ti along side it as just a card for physX? Would that be beneficial at all?

Ugh. I've been semi-trying to sell my monitors and stand to get an Overlord monitor.

Those overlords look just like my crossovers, except with a thicker bezel.

I really like the warranty you get by purchasing from a Californian based company over Korean. Even though they are Koreans.

Wow playing DS3 on PC right now. Damn thing looks like shtt. Sometimes you forget how bad console ports are.

Sucks they are gimping up The Last of Us by putting it on a console.
