Manning/Brees/Brady aren't making that 65-70 yard throw downfield to Jacoby Jones. They don't have the arm strengt

Dude was moving in the pocket and had to gun it at least 60 something yards down field. Outside of Cutler and Stafford, no other quarterback has the arm strength for that.

lulz you obviously never watched the saints this year. The ravens quite possibly have the best O-line in the league too.

he is not in the same tier as the big 4. second tier with big ben, eli, and matt ryan. before the playoffs i would have said he was 3rd tier with romo, stafford, cutler, and rivers

We will see next year. If you are talking about picking for a fantasy draft, you are high! The Ravens still have Ray Rice and still are built to play some smash mouth when need be. He has his ring and you can't take it away and he WAS the MVP. Either him or Jones were deserving. But to be elite "Tier one" QB you need to string together a few seasons. Like Brees, Brady, Manning, Rodgers.

Jesus you are retarded. Look up the numbers. Brees was sacked on 3.7% of his dropbacks, third fewest in the league. Flacco was sacked on 6.2% of his. The ravens were constantly changing up their offensive line due to injuries/inconsistencies.

Goddamn you Saints homers are a retarded bunch.

Flacco had a great year and post season and yes won the Super Bowl but damn this is ridiculous

the best QB's dont win every year shite Colin Kaepernick almost won it this year yall are saying because he was in the Super Bowl this year and Brees, Brady, Peyton, and Rodgers were on the couch that all of a sudden Colin is better?

How about Brees being the OC and QB this year with the worst Defense in the history of the NFL? Or Peyton playing with no running game? Or Brady playing with a terrible defense? Or Rodgers with no running game and a shitty defense? Throw about 7 other QB's on the Ravens team and the Ravens are a better team

Grow the frick up Flacco had a great year he has moved past Big Ben, Stafford, and Eli in my book but to say he is better than Brady, Brees, Peyton, Rodgers, and even Matt Ryan is just asinine

Could Flacco eventually be placed amongst those 5? Sure but to say that right now is pure stupidity

Consistently playing in the top tier is the key to being a top 5 QB not having one great year in the playoffs -- he has been a good 2nd tier QB -- and if you measure winning as being elite how do you rank Flacco compared to Dan Marino (great QB who never won the Super Bowl) or Andy Dalton (young QB who has taken his team to the playoffs in his first two years)?

He did a great job this year but before I put him ahead of any of the top 5 QB's in league he needs to show me that the Ravens offense is consistently better that Ravens defense

This past regular season the Ravens were 15th in the league in passing yards per game and 16th in total yards per game when Flacco puts this team in the top 5 offenses year in and year out then lets talk

You still had an OC and yards =/= points. You didn't have the worst defense in history.

Or Peyton playing with no running game?

They were 16th in rushing yards.

quote:

9th in scoring defense which was better than the Ravens' defense.

quote:

Or Rodgers with no running game and a shitty defense?

No argument on the running game part, but their defense was just behind the Patriots and ahead of the Ravens.

Name all 7.

Outside of Ryno's trolling, no one is saying that. I'm saying the gap isn't as big as some people think.

He's better than Ryan right now.

quote:

Marino is one of the top 3 quarterbacks to ever play the game so I don't know what point you are trying to make comparing players whose careers were separated by 8 years.

quote:

Andy Dalton (young QB who has taken his team to the playoffs in his first two years)?

He's easily better than Dalton. Dalton has a stud receiver and a emerging stud tight end with a consistently high performing o-line.

quote:

show me that the Ravens offense is consistently better that Ravens defense

Their offense was 10th in the league in PPG while the defense was tied for 12th in points allowed.

quote:

This past regular season the Ravens were 15th in the league in passing yards per game

They were also 15th in passing attempts. Flacco had the 6th lowest int rate in the league - Better than Brees, Ryan, and Eli.

worthy of debate

before the playoffs I would have said Ryan was clearly better than Flacco FWIW

Both are good quarterbacks (at least compared to the grief they get) but Ryan's inability to perform in the playoffs/big games gives Flacco the edge

Ryan played well against the 49ers and they lost in a close game.

it is a team game

He threw a pick near, if not in, the red zone and fumbled away a possession. Two costly turnovers that directly enabled the 49ers to rally. That's not elite performance

Yes he had a good game against the Seahawks but crumbled in the second half against the 49ers. I'm not saying he's a bad quarterback, but his inability to get over the hump is why I give Flacco the nod

I believe Flacco is better than Ryan too, but we are talking about the 5th and 6th best guys in the NFL.
